Tossed a tub outside

I noticed one of my tubs had some fat pins on it and I was about to remove the tape and add the pollyfil when I noticed that there was a grey looking mold in there with it. I birthed the giant monster cake outside off to the side of my normal compost pile. Will it be safe if I go outside in a couple of days and harvest the fruit from that moldy tub? I know it's going to fruit really well it was already fruiting very nicely before I tossed it and the weather is just right.

It was not cobweb mold, the chances of it being cobweb are stupidly slim. Verticulim (sp) as far as I know doesn't really grow across the substrate it just effects the growth of the fruits. I have a vert problem that I'm aware of. I'm not so sure it was trich but it's plausible. Either way. I'm just trying to figure out if mother nature will clean that mess up and are the fruits good to eat?

I cant in good faith advise that, but id eat wild ones, grown with whatever competition there was, so at your own risk, but nwvwr ingest anything directly growing on the fruits or ot the fruits themselves smell. Do you say con web is slim in general or yours didnt look like it, because 90% (+/- a little) will run into it eventually. Ive actually wash fruits in a mild bleach solution and rinsed (in an attempt to delay spoilage though, and i do with my veggies caant say id it worked, but in itself was safe and is a regular gardening practice, some chicken farmers around here do their meat too) moght be something to look into.

Well after now that it's outside the grey areas are gone it just looks solid white so unless some nasty deformed monstrosities grow out of it then I'm going to assume they're safe to eat. The only washing my sub will ever go through is rain water after I toss it into my compost pile because it's contaminated or spent.

Haha yeah I usually talk in the heat of the moment. I could seem like i hate you in one thread and be your best friend in another. Lol. I usually don't check to see who I'm talking to. I'll be sure to update this thread with some pictures of what came from that cake. So far it's still fruiting like a beast.

Ps. Cube. Var. GT.
It took a day longer than I promised. Can't control nature sorry I didn't update. Lol. I didn't take a picture of the cake itself I will however show you the dry yield in about 4-7 hours though The cake I tossed out was about the size of a text book or thin encyclopedia. Three full trays in the dehydrator.
