Alright cool, I'm going to soak them. I wasn't planning on doing anything big like what you got going on. Just a few holes in the ground with wood chips and grains. Thats what I'm hoping works anyway.

Soak so they  absorb  the water.

I just bought a bunch of peat, worm castings, soil, bags of alder chips, wide mouth quart jars and a new planter. It was all on clearance. For six months of the year it's harder than shit to get smoking chips without additives. Chip drop stops I think November if you're PNW.

I'm working with some 75/25 millet and chips for spawning park patches and planters.

I'm soaking chips after a 90 minute boil and letting that water content get in there good. Chips hold more than what they appear to be. I'm boiling my chips (preference) and letting sit overnight before loading into grain.

Don't forget to save your alder chip water. It makes for great LC.

Edited to add that sometimes jars take forever to make that jump from grain to wood. Make sure they're absolutely coated unless you're spawning outside in which case just use whatever you can muster up before it's too late for planting. Contaminated jars just chuck them outside. I run my grain-wood jars 2 hours at 15 psi.

LH: Plus you can use that extra water you boiled and make a kind of wood sauce or at least water the planter with it.

Man I love those wood carving you have in the background. I would love to make one of those someday. My grandmother painted a picture of cubes on to a wooden cutting board that was shaped like a mushroom, and she gave it to me :o It's kind of what inspired me. haha

I missed this post. Don't worry about any foibles or mistakes you make. This is a learning environment and people generally use it as such. There's definitely nothing wrong with not knowing something. It's what we are all here for. I know those feelings though.

And heads up too. There's an awful lot of woodlover psilocybe discussion in MH&I, particularly the actives threads. I bet if you pulled up PNW 2015, search the thread for cardboard+chips+cultivation, you're bound to find something. Or the NZ subaeruginosa threads. Karode13 cleaned the thread up as it went completely off topic but Fractaliopsybe does some good work, despite sort of being all over the place all the time. But, if you can get past that, he's done very well this season for picking, spawning and semi tekking his progress.

Just whatever you do try not to focus on the main page info. It's so outdated that it is sad.

I just checked out your gallery, Man those are beautiful. I absolutely love the "sweet sweet cyanescens" painting. You are an extremely talented artist. I also like how you have an entire wall with art on it. You're amazing. Haha

Thanks. The wall were all gifts from random people in my life. Sweet, sweet cyan is one of my favorites as well. Did yo notice it was spelled wrong? Classic.  Random dust collectors and my latest failed attempt from the tree that fell on my house. (New roof only 3 weeks old).

My girl made that out of an old clock. Xmas present. It's a type of rubberized paint that looks like stained glass. works good on windows for privacy. you paint your design on a peace of glass or laminate. once it dries you can roll it up and unroll it on the window.
