First time using hpoo, do I seperate it from the dirt it came in?

Hey guys, I've wanted to use hpoo for a very, very long time. Recently I found a stable near me that gives it away to local gardeners, so I drove over and scooped up a 30 gallon tote full.
My question is, when I was shoveling it in to the tote, I always scooped up what I guess was the bedding in the stable, do I need to go through and separate the actual manure or is this stuff okay to use also? Honestly I can't tell what most of it is, it all looks like dirt and compost.
This was my first time gathering poo from a farm and didn't want to hand pick out nuggets from a big pile, thought it might look odd. Does anyone else hand pick it? I'm sure you could make the argument that the nuggs are the only nutrient providers out of the mess(if anyone asked).
Thanks for any tips/info!

You'll really need to leech that out well and everything. Next time you get manure, try and get it from the fields instead of the stable.

Well I wasn't shoveling it directly from the stable, it had been pulled up out back for a while. It all seems dry and there is no odor of shit, so I believe it's leeches out already.

When I collected hpoo from a stable - I put it in a very fine bore sieve (a kitchen strainer might work) & hosed a lot of water thru it to remove the smaller dirt particles- there was a lot of dirt in it. Then I let it dry in the sun forever. Ideally the final product shouldn't smell like ammonia and should look like finely chopped straw. If you have a lot of wood shavings thats bad too.
Of course collecting the real poo nuggets is better than this stuff.
