Can I get a progress check?
    #23565719 - 08/22/16 11:38 AM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Wanted to know if these were looking alright after a couple days in the SGFC.
Strain is Cambodian. They were all looking fine until the biggest one started getting black spots on it, did it abort? I make sure I mist whenever the vermiculite starts to turn to a lighter color. I fan often after I mist for good FAE, is that too much fanning?

Are my shrooms simply maturing too fast? Temperature is 70-75 Fahrenheit.

This is the biggest shroom looked fine but now it has these holes/black discoloration. The one on the bottom seems to look as if it's cap is opening up already.

My other handful of cakes besides the ones in the pictures have few pins but nothing major yet. I can take more pics if needed.

My SGFC is drilled properly with 3.5 inches of perlite and is 58qt in size.

Nothing there is aborted, nothing there has matured too fast.  There are a few blotches on the cap probably from water droplets that didn't evaporate quickly enough.  Try to avoid getting the fruits so wet.  The cake is what drinks the water.

You don't want to over saturate the caps because they are not responsible for absorbing water. Otherwise you get a mixture of light, heat, humidity, and standing water droplets on the caps. That turns into small burn marks since the caps can't absorb at a decent rate in comparison to its fruiting conditions. Absorption comes from the sub, or in that case the cake. If the cake is fully covered with fruits do a light mist but focus more on bottom watering the cakes. If you have standing droplets that won't absorb it's probably better to dab it off gently with a paper towel rather than let it sit for too long.
