Habitat:woodchips where grey oyster mycelium was spread. Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
Gills: Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.
Stem: Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.
Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
Spore print color: Very important!
Bruising: Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.
Other information: Also, what about the white ball ? Is it edible too? I have others of the oysters also put up frozen. Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills. Just checking to make sure these are Grey Doves. Peace sorry about the pics my camera messed up & won't work any more(it's old anyhow). Is the white ball one edible too?

The oyster thing might be Hohenbuehelia. The other thing looks a little like an Agaricus cap.

The first photo looks like an oyster to me! I have eaten and grown these myself, they're delicious and tender! Although, your specimen looks a bit dry...
Maybe you could tell us where you found it to help identify it? There are quite a few look-a-likes.

I found this in an aspen chip pile I had dumped at my house 6 yrs. ago in south GA. I have had gyms(active blue bruising) come up several fall's in there, but this is a first for these bigger oysters. I am familiar with them, and pretty sure these are some type of oyster. When they are small they are really grey(darker). That one is dry, but I have some prettier ones & bigger ones frozen. My camera messed up during this photoshoot so...But Dang I was wanting to fry some up. Thanks for the replies guys. My smaller ones I had got dried out, but they will come back I'm sure. Maybe I'll water them next time they fruit. Peace & Love

Those don't look like any oysters I have eaten though I did find some that looked like flowers. Colors of oysters I have eaten - white - gray - brown - metallic blue - metallic green.

Yes!!!!

No!!!!!
There is a gelatinous layer in the cap which makes them cook up slimy.

Your species concept of oyster might be a little too broad, I suggest reducing it to not include Hohenbuehelia.

what about the white button? It doesn't have any gills and they just grow like a ball with no stem. It smelled good and was solid & white & meaty in the middle when I cut one in half. Ahhh oh well I am just looking for some new edibles lately. They have sparked my interests since I have gotten older. Maybe I'll find something soon. Peace & Love

Looks too flat for a puffball, but if it has no gills I guess that is what it is. Can you post a pic of the cross section?
