i read somewhere that the mushrooms will start to grow where the mycelium is exposed to light.

while incubating 12 jars (to be kept in a dark chamber) the plan will be to expose them to indirect sunlight for about 20 min/day. wouldnt it make sense to incubate them with the jar-tops facing down? that way the 'top' of the cakes will get light that they normally wouldnt, which is where mushrooms should grow from correct?

thank

It could help at the end of the colonization process (for
the pinning) to do that... I don't think that during the
colonization the myc would appreciate that
