Using Psilocybe Cubensis: can someone tell if this is all good?

I inoculated agar dish then spawned into rye grain jar within glove box. Two weeks later both jars were mostly colonized. I took jars and shook continued to lay layers of casing and rye grain into monotub lined at bottom with trash bag piece. I then topped with layer covering 90% of top. Misted and had two large holes on each side with synthetic cotton in holes. Temp. Is always at 80 F and 75-80% humidity. But my concern is when to turn on a light cycle and wether slow mycelium growth on surface is a bad sign of something.
These pics are of my monotub now after about 6 days. Third pic is overall view.

It looks good to me right now but you never really know until you put it in fruiting where the white contams will show their true colors.

How do you know when to put into fruiting conditions? And will they not fruit in 80F temp and 80% humidity?

Don't mist your substrate when your putting your tub together, your substrate should be at perfect moisture content if it was done right and adding a layer of mist will not help. Mist only when attempting to introduce fruiting conditions and/if the substrate appears to be dry.
They can fruit in the higher temps but it is certainly not ideal. You want to keep your temps below 78F at all times if possible. Higher temps will produce inferior fruits and raise contamination rates substantially.

My main questions still are when to tell when to put into fruiting conditions and if those pics I posted were good growth for 6 days.

It should be nice and fluffy on the top and starting to clump up a bit. Preferably it will start to form pins, but this takes time.

Roughly after a week it'll usually be fully colonized to the eye, then I'll let it consolidate (dont know if this is dated word) but I still let em sit 2-3 days then spawn

I personally like to give a bulk tub 10-14 days before I introduce fruiting conditions. I think most people follow the ten to fourteen day window.

Okay great answers thank you guys. Last questions are what humidity level is good for colonizing/fruiting?? And does less FAE help colonization?

I haven't been able to save up for a nice hygrometer yet but just know you want condensation on your walls...
Yes there should be NO FAE during colonization only GE

There is no reason you should be using or saving up for a hygrometer if you're growing in tubs. It won't tell you anything you need to know. It can't know the humidity at the surface of the substrate where it matters. You're gonna have to read the substrate with your eyes. Which is good, because for most people, that's completely free, and once you calibrate them, they work for years.

Your right, In a hobbyist way. let's say you wanted to run tests and actually give out valid results you want to be able to measure your humidity in different areas of your 'fruiting chamber' but that's what I meant why I would want a nice one
But as for the OP needs Quote:

Why would you do that? The humidity is supposed to fluctuate in there. It would be totally normal for it to be all over the place, thus making the only useful reading a dull flat one, which by then, your substrate would've been putting up signs before the gauge.
I've just never seen a great grow with a humidity gauge inside a tub. In a greenhouse maybe. But I know people will do what they want so if you're set on that hygrometer, nobody'll stop you.
I feel that it ultimately distracts from the entire point.

I KNOW that it distracts from the entire point. I'm currently staring at 9 straw logs flushed full of oysters I'm about to pick and package out for clients in the morning. There's not a hygrometer in sight in this bitch. I'm standing in a greenhouse. Management rolls around and sticks their damn finger in the air and they know what's up.
No hygrometer needed. Nor is one needed for the novice.
I know it's cubensis we're speaking of and not oysters, but the fact remains the same. The grow tells you what it needs. Not a gauge.

An properly calibrated analog hygrometer is a great way to let the cultivator know that the humidity is at least in the ball park. Judging correct fruiting conditions by sense takes time and experience. A hygrometer helps shorten the learning curve a bit.

The ballpark of 50-80% is a pretty big ballpark. Chances are if you're doing anything even remotely right you'll be in that range. Like, to fall outside that range, you would have to be botching simple instructions pretty badly.

What after graduate recently has taken monotubs to a lab to study I haven't seen one yet..
Exactly it is going to fluctuate so why not get those numbers and understand it in every aspect, trust me I know the good ol 'looks good, smells good' routine but in order for things to be advanced everything needs to be measured not saying a humidity gauge tells you everything if that's what you want you would need a series of different gauges But that's a different story
All I'm saying is I didn't mean for the OP to get a hygrometer I would like a nice one that is all lol

Oh yeah, I forgot EVERYBODY starts out as an expert in this hobby. Forgive me, my liege. Not sure what ball park you speak of, but a good analog hygrometer will get you to 95+ RH, so.....that's a pretty good fucking ball park to be in
