Toss it?

So this is my 2nd attempt at the mono tub. This is a 100% straw tub. I thought for sure i had bacteria (and pretty sure i still do) when i noticed the dusty/silky layer of brown covering a lot of the top of my substrate and was on my way to throw it out.

However i noticed that without even putting the tub into fruiting conditions (no fae) it was starting to develop a nice pin set. Im confused about what i should be doing with this tub seeing as i have 2 other mini-monos (coir/verm) in the house as well (not in same room.) Should i toss it outside and hope for the best? Or should i not worry about bacteria floating and contaminating other tubs?

Alsoi have smallblack dotscovering someofmy straw that isnt weighed down.It looks very formiluar as if i've seen it on Kizzles thread or something i dunno. Any info guys?

I would keep the first 2 and just see what happens, especially if you're getting pins from the second. The first 3pictures looks like it's just humidity consolidating on the plastic wrap from the heat of the active mycelium.
The last pictures I have no idea what that is. I would throw that outside and see what happens

That looks kinda nasty, next time you use straw cut it into 1-2" pieces.

Man you got at least 2 different contams going there. Straw is a bitch this time of year because the spore load in the air is higher and straw contams pretty easily. It's also not the best choice for a tub substrate, it really needs to be tightly compressed to do much good. I would open it outside with a mask on and try to get the substrate into a double trash bag and take the trash bag to a public trash can like a grocery store parking lot.

when u spawn 100% straw, I think its a good idea to use a top layer at spawning. I usually use CVG for that. maybe 1/2" layer. I fruit it when it looks 30% colonized. it acts as a casing layer when u do it right.
it will help keep the straw compressed, which accelerates colonization speed, and helps prevent the top pieces of straw from drying out, which can lead to mold.
put those outside in the shade

Would you eat an unknown mold? If not, why the FUCK would you hold on to it?
