Yesterday I made myself a cup of caapi leaf tea, which tasted very nice, and took a very small dose of mushrooms. Seeing how my life has been pretty shit lately, I think I should have done this waaay earlier.
The tea was yummy! I took about a tablespoon full of packed leaf material and put it in a tea strainer. Added a pinch of citric acid and let it steep in a cup of no longer boiling water. I was amazed at how good it tasted.
Next I took two sips from a mushroom vodka I made. It's impossible to say the exact dose since it's basically just leftovers that have steeped in alcohol for a while, but it was small.
It came on ever so gently. While I was riding my moped past a canal, I was enjoying a much needed mood lift. I felt happier. Colours were brighter, trees were taller. The water smelled great, as did the grass and all the colourful flowers. I became happy. Not ecstatic or euphoric, but content. I was not high, stoned or way out there. Even though everything did have a typical mushroom 'vibe', I did not trip. I was very clear headed, clearer than I've been in a long time. Speaking and having conversations was just so incredibly easy. After I took a very relaxing walk through the meadows and went back home.
A while later, it started to wear off. I have to say I was very tired afterwards and wanted a nap. Which was a shame, since I still had to go to work that evening.
All in all, I'm convinced that small doses certainly have their purpose for a psychonaut feeling down. I don't know what was the mushroom or what was the caapi in the experience but I like to think the caapi helped too.

@Jesus, nope not from Florida. You're quite a ways off. A lot. :p I hope you don't mind that I'd rather not disclose my location. But yeah, it's been a while since I really tripped on shrooms. It's weird, even without actually tripping, the mushroom brings this familiar feeling. Driving my moped was the most amazing feeling. It goes a little, well quite a bit, faster that is allowed. But I didn't really feel like going fast, Sonic be damned. Just taking it easy.
@Impaired, I often get this videogamey feel from mushrooms, so I hear ya. Alongside the canal are these really big, metal utility poles. They reminded me of giants, walking alongside the water amidst the trees. On top of that, DK is boss. Donkey Kong Country 2 on SNES is one of my favourite games ever made.
