LI question
    #23554536 - 08/18/16 07:17 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

I made way too much LI using a petri dish worth of agar, my question is if I keep in my culture fride at 50°F will my mycelium colonize the LI like it did the agar plate?

LI should be made from water so how would it colonize

It is water.....just didn't know if the amount of agar mixed with it may keep it colonizing....first time trying it out....no wonder I couldn't find an answer in the search....thanks man

Maybe a tit hair of growth from leftover nutrition but sort of marginally

Ok cool....I was worried I would go in and check on them in a week or two and they'd be fully colonized like a petri usually is

Precisely 1.011 tit hairs™.

A LI being fully colonized would be cool as fuck.

May look like it is. The mycelium still has stored energy its expending more than it gets from the agar if it's mostly colonized and you didn't pour it mega thick. So the hyphae will extend and look for nutrition but performance will have lag when you go to use it later

Ah yeah that's true if you made it colonize something that empty of nutrients it would be a little pissy with you when you inoc with it.

There's intracellular glycogen and other nutrients in fungi they use to extend mycelia out past non nutritional area

just pour everything you have left in your last jar. it'll explode with growth. 100% in like 4-5 days.
