Need help cleaning oil diffuser

I have a innogear essential oil diffuser.
Its worked perfectly after 5 months or so of weekly use. But I only use 2 oils with it now, which are frankincense and mrryh. Now Ive never really cleaned this out, because Ive never really had to. Always took care of it and dumped it out after use .. so no residue. But I just got back from vacation and was pretty careless with it. Oils were left in overnight etc. This became terrible for my diffuser. At one point on vacation it wasnt even diffusing.. It would be on but nothing would be coming out, and i found it was cause the mrryh was so thick at the center piece, that water couldnt even get through it. I had to use a needle and q tip to remove some of it. I straight up thought it was broken at first
So I tried to let it sit in hot water for a couple mins and then brush it with a toothbrush. It literally did nothing. The mrryh is so thick its literally like melted plastic attached to the diffuser.
I already filled it 75% with white vinegar and let it burn it all out over 4 hours, then brush but nothing. Its stuck. Then I tried 50/50 water/white vinegar and still no results. Its like a melted plastic tar.
What can I do? The only other thing I can think of is run vinegar for like 24 hours and then try brushing it. Im not even sure what vinegar is supposed to do, just that it cleans it. Its not really loosening up the resin. This is the one I have ( same exact thing just different brand name)
https://www.amazon.com/Aromatherapy-Essential-Oil-Diffuser-colors/dp/B014SF6MBI/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1471544153&sr=8-3&keywords=innogear+essential+oil
You see how it has the light/mist buttons, and then the section where the bottom fits the top? That part is literally caked in resin. So everytime I fit the top on, it sticks together again and doesnt want to remove itself, even without turning and locking it into position.
Not shitting, I have to pry it open with all my strength to open it everytime I want to drain/refill.
It works 100%, but theres way too much mrryh resin still in there and it will barely open until I get it cleaned.
So what should I do to get this resin off?
