So this is my first grow and iv had some fruit grow to mature size but iv got some small fruits that appear to have the veil breaking before it has even formed if that makes sense? Any answers would be appreciated.

Hmm I would say they must not be getting enough of what they need to grow. Hows the FAE and humidity?

Well all seems good there then. Peteyboy has a point. Just like giant fruits can exist tiny ones can too. Cute little guys. The good thing is that by weight they are more potent than large ones (A little silver lining)

I have midget mushies on my cakes too, they were all over one cake and the next cake down had the monster in my signature and two others on it. Which is why I'm inclined to beleive it's genetics.
They could have gotten stunted from misting directly, that also happened to me on a different cake, although the good ones were mixed in with aborts, which is why I'm inclined to think it was direct misting.
But I'm a noobie and learning from scratch, so I'm sure I'm wrong in one way or another and someone will come along and correct me.
I'd treat them as if they were full grown and wait for maturity, can't hurt as long as they don't abort on ya.

Genetics. It just happens. Look in my sig every mushroom on that thing was under an inch. Mind you the cakes were tiny as well. Youre gunna get shrooms all shapes and sizes. But your picture looks more like an abort with a cap that fell off..

Really, that's an abort? Hmmm.
I'm doing my very first grow now, and I'm wondering if one of mine is an abort. This is it:
It's the farthest along out of any of my shrooms. It was actually pinning before the dunk and roll, and survived. Keeps getting bigger, at least so far.
Does this look like an abort to you guys?

No If it's growing it most definitely is not an abort

You should upload your pictures to the shroomery. Most members wont click off site links.

No, I have 12 cakes growing via PF Tek right now. It's my first time growing them. I've been reading a lot and watching a lot of videos, but there's a lot of conflicting info out there so it's hard to know what to rely on without experience. But I'm working on it. All 12 of my cakes are doing well. I've had zero contamination for the whole process. I'm excited.
Thanks for the welcome!

I know all about conflicting info. I usually pester Croncir but the whole shroomery is at your disposal. They'll let you know trust me. So are there any other fruits besides the ones you posted about? I've never seen a tiny fruit tear a veil I was wondering if all or most were doing that.

Huh. I've been drinking and I know the reason why I just cant remember. Whatever the cause tho some fruits are better than no fruits right? Even if they are choads.

You know... the number of times this thread comes up, we should have some kind of information posted somewhere to mitigate that... if only there were a search feature prominently on the site somewhere..
