First time panaeolus, fast or rhizo ?
    #23550441 - 08/17/16 04:27 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

Hello everyone,

This is my first attempt at growing pans.

I got some spores to germinate on MEA, and after two transfers I have now some that are more rhizomorphic but slow growing, and others that are growing faster but look cottony.

Transfers were made the same day.
I was thinking of fruiting them as is, and then clone some fruits.

So wich one should I go with ? Fast or rhizo ?

Thx man !

I'll do that.

Now what if I had to choose between rhizo and cottony that have the same growth rate ?  :um:

Does it really matter ? I really need to do some research, i'll dig around, just not today

i've been looking at a lot of pictures of pan mycelium lately but i don't recall ever seeing it display any kind of pattern to it like those in the OP. is this just a case of a combination of bad genetics or is there some other reason why this would happen?
