Thanks for the review
I've heard many people here who loved it, and j have a feeling I am the kind of person who might enjoy if.
It just sounds like it still needs. Lot of work so I might as well wait for them to do some patches and put out some DLC before I dive in.
I want my first impression to be good so I will wait . It just seems like there is an unlimited room for improvement and expansion of this game so I do think in time it will be amazing .
Yes they should have it fully complete at launch but sadly it rarely works that way these days.
Has anyone played the new doom yet ? Apparently there is. New quake coming out that looks amazing too (or is it a new unreal tournament )?
Anyways I love room franchise so I'm going to play the new doom for sure.
I need to buy a sweet new gaming PC to enjoy the newest generation of games .

No Mans Sky? Biggest disappointment of the year, more like a walking and farming simulator. Be sure to buy the DLC so the game has playable content.

It's only a disappointment if you were expecting a multiplayer survival Minecraft in space, because that's not at all what it is.
No man's sky definitely has lots of flaws and I completely understand why a lot of people were disappointed, but all the disappointment I've heard is just complaining about what it could have been.
No one really seems to be interested in what it actually IS. And what I've found, is that it is the best simulation of a universe that's been created to date, I've heard people complain about the randomly generated planets, but honestly I've been playing for upwards of like 40 hours, and I am still constantly finding things on planets that I have never seen before. The plants on planets almost always look pretty new, and some of the animals are hilarious, the other day I found a planet with flying whale-looking creatures everywhere!
It's unlike any game before it in that, the player is utterly insignificant in the universe of no mans sky. There are an incredible amount of planets that no one will ever get to see, and every planet you see, more than likely, your the only person who has seen it. I consider it almost more of an art piece than a game, but I guess lucky for me, I still find it fun to play
I'm sure it's audience will grow if it gets updated, but honestly I don't care if it does, it's great at being the universe simulator that it is. And if we're lucky, maybe people will build on the idea of a procedurally generated universe, and one day everyone can have the Minecraft space survival game they desperately wanted

I was not expecting a multiplayer game. I was expecting a vastly unique, innovative and interesting game with almost unlimited things to do. Instead, the procedural generated worlds/universe are basic and simplistic at best that vary slightly in appearance with textures, environment and terrain but don't truly offer anything unique or different. It is a tedious grind fest with also very basic gameplay. The devs lied and lied and lied.
Not what the game should have been? Overhyping a game and lying is delivering an incomplete product and.... lying. It is why most triple AAA video games are absolute dog shit now and people support it by trying to defend it i.e also removing content from the base game and then charging people extra for "DLC" and "extras".
You enjoy it, I'm just wanting to help people save money

I'm also about 40 hours in and I don't really know what you're talking about. I'm still finding all kinds of cool stuff. Do you go in caves? Do you go underwater? Do you go on moons? The variety in environments and terrain is fucking insane. I see new and crazy animals every time I step onto a different planet. What exactly are you talking about with nothing unique or different?
Sounds like you set your expectations sky high and are all bitter it didn't live up to them on a premature launch. I went into the game expecting a procedurally generated universe where you explored the galaxy. I've been enthralled with it.
There's no game like it. You can hate it all you want, but it's still fucking awesome for what it is.

That's because Doom is Doom. It's a reboot from a beloved game that started the FPS genre. I didn't get NMS to be a shooter game. I'm frankly sick to fucking death of shooter games. I got DOOM and it's fun but I got 15 hours in it since launch. 40 hours in NMS... it came out a couple days ago.
A game like this needed to come out. This is like one of the best games to get baked to.

Alright... I've changed my mind about this game. I was wrong. 60 hours in and I haven't touch it in like 2 weeks. It was fun at first but that wore out pretty fast. The same fucking thing over and over and over. NPCs, what did they spend like one whole week on them?
It's an amazing SKELETON of a game. The base is there and it's awesome. But the game itself is empty as fuck. It's like a massive fucking ocean... with the depth of a puddle of water. The idea was fucking awesome. The implementation just fucking sucks. I guess I was just looking at its potential without really considering everything else. The core of the game is flying around the Universe, yet every single fucking ship handles and is the exact same with a different skin and the controls suck, space "battles" are some bullshit 3 little ships, there's none of the cool shit they promised.
On the planets, I have actually seen a ton of really cool variety... that IMO is one of the best parts. But the settlements and shelters and shit you find randomly on planets... really?? You couldn't code more than like fucking 2-3 different variations? Motherfucker. It doesn't matter how many fucking millions of planets you go to... you'll always find the same like 5 buildings with the same fucking interior and the same fucking static wall decoration alien with a 10 second lag when you try to talk to him as he stutters out his sentence. If you've explored one planet and found all the points of interest, you've seen all of them there is to see in the game. Every planet you go to will have the exact same camps, the only variation is 3 different races... oooh!!!That is fucking retarded.
It had/has a LOT of potential.... but after looking closer at the Dev team I'm highly doubting they can recover from this. It would take way too much work... they aren't Blizzard. This is a tiny dev team. Even if they had 200 devs it would still take a ton of time to implement half of the features they promised that were not in the game at all at launch. There's almost no AI. Features they promised in trailers are non-existent at launch and to this day. Not just one or two things.. but like 90% of the shit they promised.
I'm pretty much in full agreement with you at this point. This game should not have been sold at $60. It's a fucking slap in the face to pay full AAA price for a RUSHED game with TONS of unfinished/non-existent features. They KNEW they were releasing an unfinished game and released it at fucking full price anyway.
I probably wouldn't be as miffed if I paid early access indie game cost for this game ($15-20... what it's actually worth) Also I normally pirate games unless I REALLY like them, but I decided to buy this one at launch to support the studio because it REALLY interested me, but now I feel kinda ripped off.
Also saw the video of what happens when you reach the center of the Universe and holy fucking dog shit, that's some fucking bullshit. Fuck Sean Murray. Fucking troll.

Will there at least be some good mods or are people just fed up?

There's already some pretty decent mods... but it doesn't matter because the core of the game is incomplete and missing features. The playerbase is shrinking daily. They recorded less than 1,000 players on steam the other day... that's pretty bad. I suspect most mods will be abandoned and further development on them and new ones will be extremely slim to not at all. From reading the NMS subreddit, seems most users are just like F THIS. There are a small percentage who are still holding out hope for future development.
The way I see it, Hello Games time is limited. They dropped the ball pretty hard on this one, I don't think there's any coming back. Unless they pull some miraculous complete overhaul/update out of their ass.. and soon... with a large chunk of the core features they promised but didn't deliver... the game is going to die. It's already well on its way. Which, I suspect is pretty much completely impossible for them to pull off. They'd have to make some pretty big improvements and soon to even have a chance.

That is sad, hopefully someone learns from this games mistakes and takes the core ideas and actually implements them into an immersive diverse universe.

I did like this game but got bored of it. It is worth a good 30-40 hours at least. I consider that worth the money, and it is still really unique. My favorite part was upgrading everything, finding better ships, and the weird animals you can find on planets.
I really think this game will be remembered and people will look back at how ground breaking it was even with its flaws.

i like the concept, i understand there are still many issues to resolve, but i mean it;s a start..
I've had this idea for game, kinda similar to the game being discussed, a game without limits, take for instance grand theft auto, great game, but still very limited in terms of what u can do, u can't randomly fly up into space, cant build houses on the moon, can't bend time, can't open doors to other dimensions. there just so many things u can't do.. that's why most games bore me.. they're too plain and unoriginal these days..
marble blaster on the other hand, now that's a fucking game!
