Cyans....

First off I know there's a lot of different teks out there but I feel super lost in them. I just got my rye grains from a health food store, had to bag them form a dispensary so I don't know the name brand. But they are rye grains. I have Pan Cyans in the form of a spore syringe & I was wondering if someone can give me a step by step run down of the items I'll need to properly cultivate these bad boys and preparation of yadda yadda yadda. If it helps I'll list what I have already: Rye Grains Organic gypsum BRF Jiff Mix Organic Lime Coco Coir Vermiculite.
I gather I'll need horse poo or some sort of poo, does it have to fresh off the farm or can I buy it from Lowes or something? Also is straw necessary? I hear Pans love wood.... I know I'm asking a lot but I can grow cubes in my sleep. I'm not trying mess up these cyans, hard as they may be.
Thanks in advance peeps!

Pans dont love wood, they love poo.
Poo is not needed but recommended, straw is also a good substrate for pans.
Fresh poo is no good, you want aged poo.

You have pretty much all you need for Panaeolus cyanescens except dung or straw. Agar, while not necessary, will benifit you immensely with them as well.
IME aged manure or feild composted manure has worked the best for me but Black Kow, found at Lowes, Home Depot etc will do just fine. Beware that Black Kow has a tendency to become quite muddy so cutting it with a lot of verm and/or coir will help it's consistency.
Straw alone will work just fine. However, since pans do best from a shallow sub compared to cubes, grow best with a light casing layer and the fact that straw tends to dry out pretty fast, it's pretty much a 1-2 flush wonder IME. I have seen manure based subs and manure mixed with straw give up to 5 flushes before either contaming or petering out.
And pans do not like wood. They are dung lovers just like cubes. I think you may referring to Psilocybe cyanescens, which are wood lovers. They are completly different from each other and require different fruiting parameters and substrates.

Something else I was thinking about, I'm wanting to make some more filter lids/s.h.i.ps and what I was wondering was could I use tyvek paper say like the kind you'd get for free from the post office? Or does it have to be like tyvek coveralls? Not really sure if there is a difference.

tyvek overalls are better than envelopes but you still can't use them more than twice, I used new every time regardless.

I read on here that postal envelopes changed. They used to be good, but they changed them. And don't bother with them now.
Just what I read. But really read some better lid teks. I would go with ez felt instead.

Oh idk, maybe. Do a search and see when they changed them. There's a thread on it somewhere.
