Partially Dried out WBS. Issues?
    #23546407 - 08/16/16 09:35 AM (7 years, 10 months ago)

This is 5 days after 1.5 CC MS inoculation. I towel dried them for a few hours after no soak and 20 minute simmer. I think I heated them up too fast, b/c I saw ~5% busted seed, but they obviously aren't plump as I like. I used 1 tbl spoon/2 cups of WBS.

1. What problems arise from the dry-ish grains in the pics?
2. How long to shake the steaming WBS grain in the colander?
3. It's been 7 days, how long to see visible growth in my MS agar plates (2 drops each)?

I would have removed the majority of the black sun flowers seeds, but to me they look like my jars when I'm using WBS.

They look ok to me.

Yea, I used to do that with the sunflower seeds, but found it didn't make a difference. There were just a few jars less when I removed them, so I leave 'em in.

Does anyone else think my WBS is too dry looking? I've been a cultivator for a about 4 years and I've never had it this dry before and I'm just wandering if there will be issues?
