Also, pretty sure it says on the tek

The temp of the coir needs to be 80-90 degrees before you can add spawn.
Why did you think you'd get a different answer on here?

When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

been doing a lot of experimenting as i go, got cobweb one only and this guy was on the bottom of 3 with hot coir in a closet i think it was just too hot colonization times were good under 10day and yeah was just wondering why its so frowned upon? i know too hot will hurt myc but i literally spawned piping hot and that didn't even get a contam, one that i let cool a bit more and spawned i got cobweb, probably just coincidence requires more testing btw if ur thinking why aren't i waiting its just cus I'm impatient ha and don have a bucket with a lid

If you're impatient then you need to find a new hobby. It was very doubtful you had cobweb. If you don't have a bucket with a lid, how are you doing the tek anyways? Water is evaporating and probably ruining your field capacity along with sterilization.

If it feels warm to your hands it's too hot.

Plenty of stuff you can use instead of a lid. I don't have any buckets with lids so I improvise instead. Besides, if you lose any noticeable amount of water, (which you won't) you can always add it back again. I actually dump my coir in a big laundry basket and spread it thin so it cools faster when I'm in a hurry, never had to add any water back in the mix.

Yep better safe than sorry. I've always waited till the next day to spawn tubs.
