Adden said: Too hot to PC so I'm playing with my ovoideocystidiata planter while I hurry up and wait on plates. Making a game plan to add allenii to this. Next planter is azure/allenii/cyan. Doing everything I can to not get ovoids in the 2nd one.
Tidied it up a bit. Trimmed some Ballerina Rose. The firewitch is still throwing out flowers. Mycelium likes their dead pods.
Took loose leaves from the dead sage and worked them into the ivy. Pushed some down into the soil. I should have enough room for 2 quarts of chip (not grain) spawn which will be my last step before spring. Moved some top layer sun burnt chips into the soil.
The decay has granted me almost an inch on most parts and about half an inch in all.

The full log from 05/10/2016 can be found here.
Wish I kept better notes so it's a little mishmash. Cyans grow where I harvested chips so I wouldn't be surprised if they popped in Fall 2017. Aiming for ovoids Spring 2017.
Very nice job!

Yes but I'm being lazy.

Yep, it was very soft agar, brf agar with lots of food coloring. It went into grain soak water that was crystal clear. The agar broke up and made it look like the pool water for miniature golf
Yeah . Looks like stagnant water after every type of algae grew in it.

BRF agar is a weird concoction, I use about 3-4g brf to 10g agar to 500mL water.

Yeah, I'll bet. I never used it, I reckon there's a lot of solids left over. I hate PDA for that, even when I try to filter it with coffee filters, it clogs the fuck out of them. I mostly stick to (L)MEA, using GWA once in a while to change it up.

I use instant potato flakes in my agar often it doesn't seem to bother me. Just make you you cook it long enough to turn mooshy

I just drop my stuff in cold water and PC them. I buy lab-grade agar for this reason so it shaves off cooking time. Maybe I'll try to find some different water soluble ingredients in the future but malt extract and grain water does very well for me so far. Ends up being very clear in the petri.
Clearest agar I've had by far was a premade Sabouraud dextrose agar. Too bad it sucks balls for mushrooms though, mycelium grows too slow in it.

Lipa yai in wbs at four weeks. This was my first run, and this is jar two, that remains from the mostly failed batch. Since then I have changed my sanitary and lid Tek steps and also pc'd longer- those were done yesterday- ANYWHOO
This one stalled for a little and then exploded with growth in basically a three day period, but the growth has stalled again at the top of the jar? Is this just a dud? Any tips on what I should do with this one lonely jar, besides g2g? I was thinking mini mono in some coir and Verm.

There's a couple better threads more suited to answering your questions, namely AMU Q&A and TNF Q&A, however... I'm assuming you sent spore to grain? Slim chances of success. But shake the jar, if it doesn't recover within 24 hours then toss it.
