Chill man, was just an idea, you said you liked robidoe's woodchip cubes better, so was just a suggestion, thought you would appreciate it, I dunno, I try, can't win don't try.

You guys know you're just deluding yourselves into this being wood loving cubensis right? All sorts of everything gets into chips. Small animals, insects, old bird nests loaded with high nitrates, and the poo of non-local species. All sorts of stuff accumulates on the bark of trees or a woodpile. I'm not being a dick but that's my 2 cents. It's either a misidentified species or undocumented species or I'm right.

Woodchip cubes are unique if you ask me.

Well what we have here, is physical evidence of wood loving cubes, fruiting from woodchips, hence, woodlover cubes.

I get what you are saying, but, they are woodlover cubes.

We never said they CAN be cultivated on woodchips, but I'm not going to rule that out, that would be insane, because they fruited from woodchips.

I'll give woodchips a shot with some spores from Subsistence's print no doubt, I got nothing to loose.

Also pics of spores under the scope, I'll make that happen.

But mostly will be working with typical cube cult substrates.

Woodchip cubes are by no means normal, they are cool as fuck, not typical dung fruiting cubes.

The fact that they fruited in woodchips is awesome.

So if I 2:1:1 some woodchips, poo and spawn do I have woodloving cubensis?

Not to make myself come across like OHHHHHHHHHH, there is without doubt no poo in those woodchips, they fruited from pure woodchips...
I'm not saying that at all.

But, you got to admit, it's perhaps possible, that is all I'm saying, fuck knows.

Who knows to be honest, I'm not going to rule anything out, time will tell, I'm going to document every little thing I do with the one and only print Subsistence will ever hook anyone up with.

And like I said, once I'm done, it shall be my gift to the community, and our var. will be pure and without doubt have came from one original specimen that all the prints in circulation came from, that is the only reason Subsistence has agreed not to hook anyone else up, so what circulates stays pure, one father that every print came from, so to speak.
I have repeated that too many times though, I'm sure we all recognize why anyway, I think that was a fucking excellent move on my part.
:excellent:

And at pasty's request, our variety name has NSW at the end of it.
I thought pasty brought up an extremely valid point, so we decided to add NSW to the end of our variety name, thank you pasty, credit for that goes to you.

Honestly, until I spawn the myc from Psilocybe cubensis var. Epiphany in the Woods NSW into virgin woodchips, it's all speculation.
:nerd:

If it fruits, it's a woodlover.
If not, it's not a woodlover.
Simple.

But this dude is shipping out prints as we speak so there goes the whole pure concept for me but if it does turn out to be a sought after strian worthy of naming it ill name it,i got tons of vidoes to prove its my find. I tryed to keep the peace with him on his post just cuz i dont think its smart to say fuck you to him considering he lives way closer to this spot than i do. He claims to not care about the name anymore but is still trying to call it by the name he made up. He claims he is credited to the finding because i wouldn't have found them if i wouldnt have been going to town to pick up a dehydrator for him when in all actuality me and the wife were already heading up there to get some things and figured id call him ask if he wants me to pick the dehydrator up for him cuz he ordered ofline and didnt have a vehicle at the time. But if i tell him that he is gunna be a little bitch about it and he is my friend so im in between a rock and a hard spot. Sorry guys i just realized im venting to you.

No worries robidoe, vent away brother, that honestly sucks.
And yeah, that is the whole pure concept for you gone down the drain, honestly that fucking sucks brother, makes me very upset to hear. :oldman:

That's not a nice thing of your friend to do to you at all, if your friend has already sent prints out to multiple people and god knows who the fuck is going to stabilize and domesticate it, multiple people receiving it, that is not even pure at all, that is seriously fucked up, all you really wanted to do was name it anyway, you should at the very least have the right to keep it pure and name it.

And your friend just decided to take over the operation and fuck it up for you, what the fuck.

Who knows which one of these stabilizers/domesticators that are receiving prints from your friend might even just claim it as their own and neither your friend, nor you would ever know, who knows...

I tried to suggest a certain awesome someone for you who said he would rather see your woodchip cubes than Subsistence's made into a variety, but he just found a way to take offence when I was just thinking of his interests and something that would make him really happy, just like I get to be really happy about stabilizing/domesticating a specimen from Subsistence's woodchip cube and take the rights of it so I can keep it a pure genetic line that goes back to one specimen from Subsistence's woodchip cube patch once I release it.

So whatever, I tried to find you someone suitable first.

I don't know man, if I was you I would be extremely enraged and have a nice sit down with this asshole and find out what the fuck he has already done.

If not said certain someone, (he can have first decision if he wishes), but if he does not want to, then I would be happy to take a print and stabilize/domesticate it under your name, but if these other assholes manage to stabilize/domesticate it successfully, then there is going to be one or more other varieties in circulation with the same genetic line, and that is seriously fucked up.

I know you told me "not to speak for you" or whatever the fuck you said, but I just thought that would bring you some joy you know, so whatever, enough said, please don't attack me again.

Definitely not worth losing a friend over, especially since there's about 10k to 1 chance that anyone other than you guys ever calls it either of those names.

Hashed you kinda went out on a limb volunteering Adden for the stabilization of a wild find. That is a lot of fairly tedious work and despite loads of F2 possibility there is also a lot of dissapointment involved in projects like that. Pretty much why despite loads of wild genetics being distributed all the time, very few ever go anywhere. I know I wouldn't appreciate someone volunteering me for a job like that, no matter the intent with which it may have been done.

Man I wish I lived somewhere with awesome cube patches like that!! but seriously.. Don't end your friendship over the highly unlikely probability of either of you domesticating these genetics.. However, have a talk about your guys' future privacy and maybe just don't show him your next spot haha.

And really, they're just growing out in public like that, you two may not even be the only ones who know about the patch. If you really want to make an impact on the mycology world, then do the hard work of stabilizing the genetics. Then no one can dispute your contribution... Arguing over who found some unstable wild genetics that may never produce the way we desire, is foolish.

All this egoism and bullshit about inventing a strain or a name stinks!:thumbdown:

The strain name is it's origin and I hope the community growing it will call it texas woodchip-strain or whatever and you cry babies can go f*** yourself.
