it appears you are fruiting in some kind of non-standard fruiting chamber, and your fruits are being hindered pretty signifigantly from poor growing conditions. they look like they need some serious FAE and perhaps some additional water.

For example this person's cake in a proper fruiting chamber

I think what he has them in is fine as long as there are plenty of holes. I'm not seeing any in the foil area, next time i'd put some there as well. surely you have them in the top plastic piece.
Glad to see those cakes revitalized though. You're a good dad.

Perlite is pretty useless in a tray. Unless air flows up through holes beneath the perlite it won't do much for humidification. Breeding ground for early contamination tho

Yeah he definitely needs holes on the bottom half of the tub as well as the top. The container itself would totally work though. :P Not what I would use but it does the job.

Very simple solution here. Build a proper SGFC. I know you can do it

Sounds like a terrible idea.

Go back to square one do things right. Then you won't have to fix problems with more problems

some people have to have their own failures rather than learning from the vast pool of knowledge others have amassed. that's ok too. I guess we just wanted to see you have some more success for your effort.

it's hard to make decisions on what to do when you have 0 idea what they want.

fanning is not FAE. you have to manually fan 10 times an hour to achieve FAE. FAE should be provided by the holes in your fruiting chamber and should occur all the time passively.

cakes should make their own humidity as the evaporate off moisture you spray on the vermiculite you rolled them in. the FC should just keep them from drying out too fast, it's a crutch so that you can go to work and sleep and not have to maintain them every few hours.

also not warm enough is below 65F

The knowledge you're after is already being offered. There is no "wiping the slate clean" involved whatsoever. Do you really think going it alone will yield better results than following the teks that have been around and improved upon for years?

:justno:

Please build a proper SGFC and put your cakes in there. You might be are making this much more difficult than it need be.

When I get off work there getting moved into a light bulb heated cloths hamper to give a nice humid area.

 wtf are you even talking about? I've grown cubes outside when it was dropping to 30-40 at night. Some mornings had frost. This isn't a temperature problem. This is a surface hydration and fae problem.

Just follow the tek I linked and then read the misted cakes project that's at the bottom of the tek I showed.

I know you can do it. I really don't understand how you can put in X amount of your time to follow a tek, and get to the point where it's colonized in a jar, and then just stop reading and wing fruiting..

I know I'm kind of a noob here, but I think you are missing out on something. FAE is there to provide your "baby's" with oxygen. It's not a plant. It needs to breathe air just like we do. The fanning is to eliminate the build up of CO2 at the bottom of the chamber because CO2 is heavier than the air around you. This can fill the chamber with co2 and strangle the 'baby's" Like i said, i haven't been doing this long. someone correct me if i'm wrong about something.

Chambers do not fill with co2. Co2 does not settle out of air. It's infinitely miscable with the other gasses in air. If co2 settled we would die from emissions. It kind of settles in gigantic tanks that are sealed closed. By kind of settles it has a higher concentration lower in the tank.

We do not fan for co2 removal. Even the inventor and every single TEK on the SGFC says this. The fanning is optional and is ONLY to remove mist suspended in the air after misting

You're wrong. If co2 settled on the bottom, we'd all be suffocating from the cars and cows all around us. Air currents swirl everything together. Even things MUCH heavier than molecules. Like dust, pollen, spores, etc.

I'm fan free since 2013.
