Contam or Mycelium?
    #23541872 - 08/14/16 06:52 PM (7 years, 6 months ago)

Hey my imaginary friend inoculated rye jars with psilocybe galindoi in hopes of growing sclerotia. In all the jars are growing a white fuzz in multiple areas. Is this a contamination or early stage mycelium?

Mycelium or Contam
You may choose only one

Based on the imaginary pic that actually enlarges I'm gonna say your brothers girlfriends hamster has imaginary mycelium. That hamster should probably get an account here.

Lol. That's mycelium. Congrats.

Also, drop the imaginary friend stuff. We all know it's you. If you continue to do that- Inocuole will come and shame you.

*Gasp* Stay quiet! Here he comes...shh.

Sweet! Sorry I didn't know if this was one of those sites where everyone says SWIM. It won't happen again.

Yeah. No SWIM stuff around here. We're all big boys and girls! Hehe

Nice job on getting to this point.

What are your intentions as far as substrate and fruiting technique? IE: Where are you going with this?

I was planning on leaving them in the jar until December and harvesting the sclerotia. I'm following Violets truffle tek. TRUFFLE TEK

Update on one of the jars. Almost 100% colonized. Mycelium is climbing up sides of jar. Will post pictures of other jars when I get the chance.

That's pretty bad. I would case it and top fruit if you wanted some fruit. Don't spawn that or expand it.
