Nah man. GOP cant be on the hook for things like unemployment and poverty because poor lazy minorities.
And the Dems cant take credit for good economic conditions in blue states because of all the violent thuggish criminality that relatively good economic conditions somehow breed.
tl;dr the red/blue state comparison is not fair because black people.
or maybe crime is dependent on population size, and the "just look at detroit and chicago" line is just a red herring meant to distract from the GOP's absolute shite economic agenda

why are most economists conservative and most scientists liberal?
Why is one of the poorest jurisdictions in Maryland still richer than seven of the reddest states?
Why does one of the most liberal states in the country have twice the household income of the one of the most conservative states. Why are the most liberal states the richest, and the most conservative ones the poorest?
The cost of living is higher in ghetto Baltimore than southeast Kentucky.

Children definitely offer drugs in Philadelphia, for sure.

I've had some come up to me asking to pump my gas or to wash my windshield for money at a gas station in center city. I just said no thanks, gave him a fiver, and then had his friend ride up on a pretty new looking razor scooter asking for more money and I realized these kids were just out of school for the summer and on the hustle .

I don't ever give money to children in America. Like first of all, social welfare programs take care of children immensely. If they are truly homeless they are taken out of the home, CPS gets involved, or their family is given first priority in shelters. They get free food and donated clothes. There's really no need to give to children in America.
If I see them trying to buy something at the market or at 7-11 and they end up short on change I will cover it for them. Or I will give them some of my food if they ask. But that's the most I do.
That's one of the reasons the Danish government tells their citizens they should never give money to homeless people. Because the government takes such good care of their homeless, providing them with shelter, food, clothes, even things like internet, that they caution people that anybody begging on the streets is a scam artist of some sort.

yeah, in retrospect it wasn't a good idea, and it's not a good idea to give kids money anywhere because, especially in countries where begging is a huge problem, it's going straight back to the parents or whomever is putting the kids out on the street.
With the adults I've mostly learned to be able to say no or offer food or coffee if I want to do something nice, it's usually turned down but sometimes someone will take me up. Occasionally someone comes along that for whatever reason makes me feel particularly bad, usually it's when I run into someone elderly on the streets.
I honestly just never had a kid approach me before and it was reflexive, they seemed to be doing really well though - it was a gas station in rittenhouse right when all the 9-5'ers are leaving the city for the day. smart kids.

The govt in America also takes care of the poor, IMMENSELY, the vast majority of homeless in America are homeless by choice, it's a way of life
I don't give to homeless people either, adults or women and children, unless they have a dog, cause i like dogs, no other reason

Not true by any means, especially if you're a grown man.

I actually used to be homeless, it was more or less by choice, and during that time, I met many other homeless people, not scientific or anything, but yeah, it's a lifestyle choice
I sure there are some people who truly don't want to be homeless, but during my time as a homeless person, from Ft. Worth to Albuquerque, I was offered, basically harassed, by people offering to help, from social workers to just regular people, we always laughed and threw rotten vegetables at them
