How do you cook jars in the 1941x?
Do you remove in the inner basket and place lids on the bottom of the sterilizer?
Will the jars really crack if I dont use lids on the bottom?

I use the trivet that comes with the aa. Im sure you can order one cheaply.
Mine dont have baskets, if it did i would remove it to fit all 21 quart jars in.
Just got one i take it? Youll want another one in no time
Did you ask if youll crack if you dont use a trivet? Im glad you posted. Yes they will crack.
Its just a bigger normally operated pc except the stop cock, that starts strait up to vent, then flipped down to build pressure. Can run up to 25 or so psi.
I googled the model, looks very slightly different than the 941s im used to, at first glance i thought your item was just a 941 with a stop cock. Im not sure what operation details the hole dealy comes with sorry!
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night

If you run it without the basket be sure to tie up the steam tube to near the top of the lid. Otherwise when you go to vent the air all you end up venting is the steam as it rises up and the air ends up trapped at the top.

Thanks for the response guys.
Trivet, do you mean the plate that it comes with, or the actual stand that is used in a 25x and 75x? Does the plate that it comes with, actually elevate the jars enough to withstand my cracking concerns ?
I was planning on ordering the actual 75x stand, and cutting the stand legs in half, so the rack can sit about 1 1/2" from the bottom of the sterilizer, about the same height as placing lids.
The 41 qt pc holds 21 qt jars?, what you lay some on top, sideways? I thought it only holded 19 qt jars
The steam tube is definitely coming off, if possible. I wil be using this baby, only for jars, and dont need the hassle of always taping; or wrapping the tube.
Right now am working with a 25x, and it sucks up a lot of my time when I need to cook a lot of jars .Also, From my experience with the 25x, Id rather move to a non-electrical model, less to wrong with it! I ll leave the 25x for agar and lc work.

Do the racks that come with these sterilizers actually elevate the jars enough to withstand any jar cracking concerns ?

Yes. As long as they are not directly touching the bottom the jars should be fine.

I personally cut the vent tube off my 1925X and converted the sterilizer stopcock vent type to a regular weight style with AA parts. I prefer how the standard weight style control will automatically keep the pressure correct as long as you have enough heat, the sterilizer type requires a lot more attention. Plus I don't like the major vacuum purge that occurs if you let it cool with the stopcock thing closed.
