Hypothetical question regarding growing Liberty Caps
    #23540118 - 08/14/16 08:33 AM (7 years, 5 months ago)

I know this wouldn't be ideal at all but what would happen if you filled a glass jar with earth and grass , put some liberty caps in there and sealed it with just a couple of air holes, kept it moist and cold?

Doesn't that basically replicate the conditions that they grow in outside? The spores will fall off the libs and in to the soil and eventually grow?

Not really, no. Look up liberty cap cultivation.

Lots of fae is needed. A lot more than humidity. You'd be better off growing it in open air.

Oh and you'd be much better off germinating the spores on agar first, then transferring to spawn. There's a pretty low chance that the spores would be able to germinate and take over inside a house inside a jar where the air flow is low, and potential for other competitors would be great.

The fact is that indoors has way low fae. There's very few cultivators who've succeeded in cultivating indoors. And when they did, the pinsets weren't exactly amazing. Still amazing for libs, but nothing like how they grow outside.
