Spawning to cv

Plan:
Bring 50/50 coir and vermiculite to field capacity, load in jars (cover in tin foil because my lids bit the dust,) and pressure cook for _:__? Anyone care to fill in those blanks?
I know pasteurization is best, but I'm working with limited resources. Also, I've seen at least one trusted cultivator say they don't even bother pasteurizing cv--thoughts?

Do a search for bucket tek. Dont need to PC, thats too much work for coir. Not worth the effort.
And you don't use a 1:1 ratio. Its more like 4:1 coir to verm.

Thanks, I'm still in the research phase of this part. The issue is that I have no money available to spend on this or any other hobby at the moment. So I'm working with what I've got, haha.
Also, I'll only be needing 3 quarts of sub.

Whatever you do don't sterilize it. Then it's open game for the fastest colonizer.

Why? I can't argue with you obviously but I want a good reason.

Unlike most other substrates coco is mutant at being contam resistant, it can be sterilized and spawned in open air without a flowhood, people here say coco loves it sterilized even more, I cant say Im still a pasteurizer, but Im planning on doing some side by side and see if there is any difference.

Well, I ended up going with sterilization. I'll see how this mini mono goes and then decide what I'll try next time, lol. Let me know how those side by sides go if you get around to it.
