Ok so after testing with Golden oyster I can see that the longer you cook the wood, the better.
This is not due to the resins, but to breakdown the wood to a more usable state.

You only need to prevent aerial infection, from mold spores.
Once fully colonized infection chances are minimal.

I have updated the cooking method.

Here is the 50/50 pine and paper WL Tek sample, kept in a fridge at 2°C.

           

Darker than the standard WL Tek, the surface is flat with a sheen.

So, King oyster is capable of consuming pine, Golden oyster is too sensitive.

   

Very limited growth and metabolites, not a good result.
Full pass for King oyster, fail for Golden oyster.

----

Soon, Tarragon and Summer oyster's to test on pine.
I found Nameko, which also eats softwoods.
