I finally went to Taco Bell for the first time! 1

So yeah, I went to Taco Bell for the last time today. Took me 30 years but I finally went there.
Generally when you go to a restaurant it's to get a taste you can't really make at home. This time around, it's not a taste I'd want to replicate. Not impressed. It was cheap though. I have to give them that.
I don't know how this restaurant is turning a profit but hey, fake Mexican food seems to attract the fatties.
Now if this hit's me like all other fast food places, I'm gonna feel suicidal for the next few hours.

Pretty easily man. They use extremely cheap ingredients and they sell a lot.
I've been to much higher quality Mexican restaurants and even food trucks sell tacos for about the same price as taco bell, sometimes cheaper.
Stuff that looks like this:

Rather than this:

For roughly the same exact price mind you.

taco bell is pretty gross, and not as cheap as they used to be.
I ate there a few months ago out of conveninence and almost immediately regretted it. Can make a taco 25x better at home for 1/10th the price.

What'd you get exactly?
the chicken quesadillas are of the chain.
They also have a fresca menu that uses better quality meats and is pretty good imo
all the burritos regular tacos and crunch wrap supremes use that same grounded god knows what.
i personally don't mind them but i can see why it disappoints ppl so i reccomend the fresca menu for first timers.
Unless of course you eat Taco Bell as God intended and get completely smashed before you go, then its all delicious.
Seriously, get really drunk and try Taco Bell again sometime.

You drink soda once a month?
Do you plan it out every month or something? Choose a different, special soda each time?

Believe it or not when the first Taco Bell opened up in Japan recently, people lined up for 2 or more hours to try it.
Even my French friend who spends $400 every other week to dine at Robuchon's restaurant went and waited.

They only use flour tortillas at Taco Bell, real Mexican food uses corn tortillas.

I find certain items at Taco Bell to be pretty decent. Not amazing, but decent.
I like the Chalupa, Gordita, and those slider things. The XL Burrito is pretty good. Items like the bean burritto and soft/hard tacos are just plain sad...
I feel u havent got the real experience untill youve tried some of their Flagship options (aka the most expensive items).

I prefer El Pollo Loco and Del Taco over Taco Bell as far as fast food fake Mexican goes. Del Taco has a pretty decent chicken soft taco with white sauce. But these chains only exist in the southwest of the USA.

Yeah, i forgot the name, like some "grande burritto" or something. Its one of the most expensive thing on the menu and theres about 3-4 flavors. Definitelty worth the money in my opinion.

THere's a place in Ottawa (maybe elsewhere) it's called mucho Burrito. It's practically a subway for burritos. You pick the size of the tortilla and choose the ingredients as you go. In the end, the burrito has a 3 inch diameter and is like 7 or 8 inches long. It sells for like 11$ or something. When your done eating it, you are full. Completely full. The last 2 inches is hard to eat. But it's so good that you do it anyway

There was this place in Colorado called Cafe Mexicali. Place was really good. They'd make your tortilla on the spot, so it was a freshly made flour tortilla.
Then their sauces were pretty good too. They'd smother it on top.
It's not truly Mexican food either, but place was awesome.

Cafe Mexicali is great! But I can't help but feel like their prices are armed robbery. Most the time my friends go there I just sit there and watch them eat.

Nope. But it's been almost 24 hours since I ate it. If it's gonna happen it's gonna happen soon

Taco Bell actually makes a few tasty things. Coincidentally, none of them contain meat. I love their cheesy bean and rice burrito. I mean, it's really fucking good actually and despite being $1, you don't really question the quality of ingredients in it that make it so cheap because it's rice, beans, and nacho cheese basically . But 98% of their menu is not so good, and their tacos are insipid waste.

For health reasons, or does it just dilute all the alcohol you drink?

I used to drink 3 cans of pepsi per day. I just decided to stop like 6 months ago. Haven't looked back since.

Yeah, fuck that high fructose corn syrup bullshit.
When I can afford quality soda, I'll start drinking it again. Which won't probably be soon.

Good job on that. Have you considered trying the Crystal Pepsi that is out now?

I noticed after 3 days that I no longer crashed in the afternoon. I usually became cranky and impatient during the times I crashed and I needed a pepsi just to feel good again. So essentially, better energy management in my body.
Also, I noticed that I save money and that there isn't 1000 cans everywhere...

I read you. A few months ago I quit coffee and it is a much better feeling to be running off of my own energy. It feels great.
We should all quit drinking stimulant beverages! WHO IS WITH ME?!
