That thing looks utterly soaked. Cut down on the misting a bit, a waterlogged substrate will have trouble pinning and even growing shrooms to maturity.
Now when you say "2 weeks old", do you mean the thread? or the shroom? If the shroom is two weeks old it's probably bruising due to over maturing. Basically this means that it's starting to degrade and break down, I wouldn't eat it in this case.

Pull it gently, if it is rubbery, it's done growing. If it looks wrinkly, it's done growing. If it's squishy where there's the bruising ("rotting"), it's gone and you shouldn't eat it.

ive seen you posting about this weird mutant for a long time. it is definitely done growing, being as long as it has since you fist posted it. i wouldnt eat it, though. looks a little too crazy to be just a mutant. i mean, it prolly is just a mutant, but kinda looks like a whole different species haha.

@ another species. You won't think that once you start growing PE.
I wouldn't eat it either, 2 weeks is a while for a shroom to stay in a humid FC. But I guess if it isn't all squishy on the inside, the risk of food poisoning isn't that big

dont mind me. its most likely just a mutant. if it doesnt seem rotten, then it's fine.

I was joking with the food poisoning comment as well. I've had bacteria make me sick with sclerotia that I harvested from a poo tray but this shouldn't happen with a fruit (since it's not submerged inside the sub) and it especially will not happen after you dehydrate it since bacteria need moisture to live. In my case, it wasn't genuine food poisoning either. Fucked my trip and my shit up for sure but it passed a few hours later. Wanted to puke my guts out the entire trip though, barely even got high from the stomach ache. I ate the sclerotia fresh, that was my mistake.
Overmisting can and will definitely cause mushrooms to stop growing. Take the lid off of your SGFC (or take the cake out so you won't dry out your perlite) and wait for it to dry a bit. Once it doesn't look so drenched, put it back in the FC. It only needs to be glistening, not soaked. Once the water almost dries completely, mist it again to the point of glistening.

Is this supposed to mean my shroom and/or cake look diseased?
it means 2 things. or 3.
1; you cant possibly have such horrible conditions in a sgfc that makes the mushroom twist like that so 2 yeah there maybe some disease going on (not trich/mold but something that fucks your fruits up) and 3; Anthrax fuckin rocks, its saturday crack a beer!

Could be that he didn't consolidate his cakes for long enough. I read that it can make regular cubes mutate like that.

usually they just take their time pinning in the FC then IME. I'm just throwing it out there, its most likely from bad conditions but damn how bad can you get them? no offence OP.

You guessed right. It was my first cake, looked great until around 97% colonization I thought I saw little mushroom heads poking up from the sides. I thought it was in vitro pinning (know now that they were primordia at best)
early pinning is because contams/no more food, not lack of consolidation.
