    #23531428 - 08/11/16 12:34 PM (7 years, 5 months ago)

in a mixed upland hardwood forest near mostly oaks and some maple & beech on the mid-atlantic east coast.

pics should show the rest, i assume.

bonus Cantharellus cibarius pics

part of the haul

there were probably over a 1000 Cantharellus cinnabarinus flowing down this hillside.  collected about 200 of those tasty little treats.

crappy pics

Maybe Amanita brunnescens, the "cleft-foot amanita"?

thx for that suggestion.  i considered that but no inherent discoloring of the basal bulb in the pictured specimen and the stipe is awfully shaggy.

the discoloring at the bottom of the bulb in the second pic is staining from the soil/wood fragments below the bulb as i pulled the pieces off myself.

i get that all specimens don't conform to all descriptions of macroscopic features, though, and thanks again.  i need to get a new microscope.  the one i bought with paper route money when i was 12 doesn't cut it lolz.
