Watering outdoor patch now that it's fruiting?
    #23530746 - 08/11/16 08:52 AM (7 years, 5 months ago)

These guys showed up today. They're dry so I watered em but it looks like I bruised em a bit. Should I water from the bottom instead of trying to sprinkle it on like rain with the water hose? It stays in the high 90s and it's desert area so is giving them a lot of water a bad thing?

How to get started in bulk:
Presto 23-Quart Pressure Cooker
BOD's Simple as FUCK Still Air Box
PastyWhyte's Easy Agar Tek
Munchauzen's Cultivation Video Series
How EvilMushroom666 Prepares His Grains (I use jars with Synthetic Filter Discs)
What is G2G? (Grain-to-Grain)
Damion5050's Coir Tek (I use 5.5 - 6 quarts of water instead of 4. Also ignore step 13 and ignore the monotub completely. The only purpose of this tek is to show you how to make a simple substrate. I also add gypsum to it but not necessary)
Spitball's Monotub Tek (A liner isn't necessary but is useful)
Use 6500k lights throughout the whole process. When you wake up, turn the light on. When you go to sleep turn the light off. It's as simple as that.

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat, who was sitting in a tree, “What road do I take?”

The cat asked, “Where do you want to go?”

“I don’t know,” Alice answered.

“Then,” said the cat, “it really doesn’t matter, does it?”

I actually just had a friend give me the genius idea to use my regular spray bottle that I use for indoor grows. I can't believe I didn't think of that

Get a hose spray nozzle that has a mist setting, spray that whole area really well cause it looks dry and the tops of the caps are splitting from the sun/heat. Is this bed under a tree or in the shade most of the day time hours?

Also, good work :super:

Thanks man. And yes, it's in the shade most hours, under a tree and between a bush and a fence. It's just REALLY dry and hot out here. I will definitely make the effort to go out and mist them a few times a day though.

Yeah misting outside patches with a spray bottle? :suicide: I go in with a watering can and douse them if it's outdoors. They handle it like bosses.

both, dump water into the ground so it has something to draw from and liberally mist the surface.

I posted this in my grow log, but I thought you guys might be interested in seeing these guys that are starting to pop up :crazy2:

I put a tarp over it to prevent what direct sunlight was coming through from hitting the mushrooms but they have plenty of room  between the ground and the tarp.

Watering late evening, at night, or early morning works best on patches when it's really hot and low RH outdoors. Otherwise it's going to shock them like throwing them in boiling water lol.
