Killing maggots in dry grain

Okay so i just bought my first bag of rye berries to get rid of brf method and i noticed 2 maggots crawling around in my bag. I don't want to use the rye berries yet but don't want them to multiply while in storage. If i were to freeze the bag of grain, would it kill them off? I feel like if i pre-soaked and simmered, it would introduce contaminates due to the moisture and nutrience..
Thank you!

Maggots aren't going to hurt anything other than your living conditions. The grain will be fine to use either way. You could freeze the grain but there may be other insects in there that can go dormant through that and still live off the grain in the meantime. How much rye are we talking about here?
Oh, it's you, nvm..

Okay well i sort of answered it myself while looking up some stuff. Rye berries can be frozen safely, and maggots die in the freezer.. so I'm going to assume yes. Lol

I think he figured it out.
But still.

Less than 20 pounds and may as well toss it. If it's 50 pounds or more and there's only a couple maggots, sure, do what you can to preserve it I guess. Watch out for grain weevils though. That's shit you don't want no part of.

Oh whoops couldn't see his post for some reason. But I closed and re-opened the browser and then I saw it. Okay I'm kidding, done busting balls now.
If it's just 5lbs go ahead and freeze it because it won't even matter, it's just 5 lbs. I bet you paid out the wazoo for that 5lbs at some health food store though. Might've got the 50lbs for cheaper. If you're near a tractor supply, they're like a myco wet dream.
You can put me back on ignore now if you really want OP. But then you get your 0 back too. It's only fair.
