Ready to Fruit? [pics]

Hey pros -- I'm stuck. How do you know when bulk substrate is fully colonized and ready to take to fruiting stage. I've read that one should wait to see hypha knots or pins. But I layered my Rye Seed spawn with Coir/Verm substrate (3-4 inches total in successive layers) with the top layer being Coir/Verm.
My guessing these are not ready (it's only been 10 days), but do I wait until all the brown is completely white? Or is that top layer acting like a casing layer -- in which case I read I should fruit when it's 20%-30% covered?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If that's not a casing layer, then it should be fully colonized. As in, fully colonized.

I may just be tired but I'm having a little trouble with your post.. did you mix your spawn and sub together? ...And then add a layer of coir verm on top? If so I would say fruit it

I didn't mix the spawn and substrate, no.
I layered them like a parfait: a layer of substrate then a layer of spawn then substrate then spawn and finally substrate. Each layer was like 3/4 of an inch or so.
They top layer on top was NOT added after colonization, it was added in the original application about 10 days ago. What do you think?

Oh no... not sub layering.. Sub and spawn should be evenly mixed. Go ahead and let it fully colonize if you layered it, there could be all kinds of spots where it's not completely colonized inside, given that information..

I'll mix directly next time, ugh! No idea why I layered.
When you say go ahead and "let it fully colonize" how would I know when that's happened? When it's completely white on top? I've looked for pics in the forum and it's so hard to tell for this newbie.
Thanks so much!

fully colonized just means 100% covered in mycelium.
