My current batch of rye I do a 15 min hard boil and a 15 min soak, then dump. Even then they can use a little moisture, so I load a little wet and they come out perfect after a few shakes and a day. I usually let sit on a screen 30-60 min and mix a bit in the beginning I do dry more if I plan to use LC, but careful rolling of the liquid let’s even 10-12 mL get absorbed in properly hydrated grain

I use Millet and Milo, in varing ratios, as my grain spawn. What should I try next? I seem to get the moisture more or less down for this, and milo is super easy and I'll always try to guarantee a supply. But I feel I should try something else out. I use Jars not Bags, and generally I'm gunning for cleanliness rather than yield or speed.

If it works for you stick with it.
One option is to do 1/2 pints of those small grains as masters, then g2g into larger grain like rye or oats for speedy colonization.
As long as you leave enough space in the receiving jar(s) this is a nice method

I'll see how much rye costs vs oats (I have a feeling its more expensive) and give the relevant tek a try (probably Bod's or Ham's, I think they have one of each between em)

If you have a feedstore near you go that route, very cheap.
I based my rye off hams, a good place to start. Never tried oats as I heard more problems getting it right for some and didn’t want to mess with that

To each his own. I prep oats like bod, and let them dry them in old SGFCs. An hour usually to dry, sometimes left for more than a few hours. $27/50kg on my side.

The only place for me to get rye is about 40 mins one way, it's about $40 for 10kg. TSC is 10 mins away and costs $22.85 for 25kg. I've been using it for about three years now, just fire em into a pot and boil until the center is almost clear...easy and cheap.
I've used paper towel when drying but my attention to fine detail borders on compulsive, picking little pieces of torn up wet paper towel from my oats is fuckin tedious.

I just put 35 1/2 pint BRF cakes into incubation and i just realized i forgot to let the steam run out of my 10 lb pressure cooker before i put the weight on.
I pressure cooked all these jars 7 at a time for 70 minutes and i started the timer when the weight was spinning hard each time.. But i forgot to let the steam run out before putting the weight on. So the weight was on the pressure cooker from the beginning.
Do you think these jars will still work out? any feedback would be greatly appreciated!!!

Teladi Brother you can give it to me in rands
I finally , FINALLY, managed to fruit this LGT. I got it on cakes and in countless shoeboxes, and it just would never fucking fruit. I got a few nasty looking mutants on one shoebox, and in one mislabled PESA cake jar I got these same-lookin pins :

Which means I can FINALLY archive this princess strain and get to fruiting this ropey as fuck BHT. I'm blown away by these thai varieties, BHT is explosive and I have knots in boxes TEN DAYS from spawn, which is like a new personal best. (Theres no personal bests in this hobby, just good solid co-operation between man and myc.)

Dude, a case of half pint jars made up of tek style is super cheap, extremely easy and will provide you with enough mushrooms to treat your depression for months and months from a single run, bulk grows are cheap once you make the initial investment in a pressure canner. Bulk grows are more distribution related than personal use.
How often are you medicating with mushrooms? 1 single 5g trip is said to be beneficial for several months or taking microdoses every few days to once a week has beneficial effects. I know people using them for PTSD, migraines, depression and a few other disorders that benefit from doing it as I described above.
It sounds like you could benefit from it, pf tek is the fastest way to get them, you will have mushrooms in 3wks to a month, bulk can take up to 2 months if you have to start from scratch.

I do brf cakes 90min as recommended in the tek. It is going to be a crapshoot in my opinion since there was trapped air in your PC and short run cycle.

There is a lot of mixed information on how long to pressure cook BRF cakes for with a 10 lb pressure cooker. Thanks for the quick reply, from what i gather for brf cakes people are only doing 60 minutes even with 10 lb pressure cookers. Any other feedback?

By 10 lb do you mean 10 PSI ?
Most cakes would be fine-ish at that, I would do 90min with long cooldown but thats just me.

To each their own, for me it was the opposite. The reduction in dry time doesn't justify the increased cost for me....but that's just me. I plan on making a wood framed screen drying rack with a box fan underneath, (seen it somewhere on the forum) this should significantly reduce drying time. (Which isn't really a problem to begin with, I just like projects)
Hey for what it's worth, I found whole wheat at TSC too. And it's $12 for 25kg
