So I am trying to clone some pinners I found. Would have let them grow but we had a cold front come through. First time so I canโt tell if this is mold or myc... These are from 3 days ago. The plate in the top pic has a big blob from me pouring reheated agar.

I have a better stipe from one I picked yesterday so Iโm going to make a few plates with it as well but trying to find out if these are trash.

The top ones look like mold to me. I wouldn't trust it. I can't find pics of when I've put pins on agar, but all of my clones hit rhizo growth immediately and was relatively uniform in its directional growth.

What species? Caerulescens myc is fluffy from what Iโve seen on agar

Its "shorter" in like the rings but you cant tell it appart from cube myc unless you were looking for it an did know the subtle differences. In nature its probably way more rhizo though imnot sure though.
It'll even knot on ME agar but wont pin. Its not super hard to clean up either easy as a cube.

I was referring to cube myc on 1:1 LME agar. I'm inexperienced with non-cube myc, so take my opinion with a grain of salt if that's something else.

The first two look good for a few days growth. I would transfer sooner than later (now). A wild clone is easier than working from spores, but they will usually end up showing a variety of things growing. I've had my best results trimming down the stipe to a section to take tissue from near the cap.

Made some more grain jars today, GSA and saved some of the liquid to try my first LC. Unfortunately I ran out of time to PC the LC jars. How long can they sit before being PCโd?

Thanks in advance!

id dump those jars into ice cube trays and make gw cubes. you are also using way to much lc per jar imo.
use like half the amount. how you inoculating? beware the dangers of ships.

Ok, so I need to freeze it just not in the glass jars, lol.
The reason they are so full is because they are half pint jars not pint. As far as inoculation, Iโm not sure yet. Would an agar wedge work? If not Iโll do a LI.
Thanks all!

Iโve only made LC once and did the Josex poke, worked awesome. 2/3 jars were clean and I know my technique wasnโt great and had some equipment failure, so I was surprised any worked out.
