I’m relatively new but I would say go with plastic. Save yourself from having to wash and sterilize after each use and you can get the plastic plates cheap. Just got 500 for $100

You got jipped for 40 bucks, 500 disposables should run you 64-70 bucks.

You don't wanna know what I pay for petri's trust me.

Just buying 100 hurts..
Edit: okej I just looked up exactly how much I pay and it's 620Nok Norwegian Crowns for 100 petri's. That's 75.26US dollar.
So I would have to pay 326US dollars for 500 petri's. You guys shouldn't complain too much haha

I pay more than 8 times more than what Nimph pays, he's the one to give you advice where you can get them that cheap.

I suppose it depends what size plates you are talking about. Bigger ones would obviously cost more. You can get the little 60mm ones for dirt cheap.

Refinement required but I noticed ever so slight fibre optic qualities. I'm sure mycelial structure manipulation could have neat results.
lamp, lens cloth, jar. no edits fun
Some structure, contrast and boost the highlights would look sweeeet.

I won't use disposable petris or bags due to the plastic waste generated. In the end, that's up to you.

I've never used glass petri dishes, but the common issue I hear is that they're super slippery and will be too tough to handle. I use glass 1/2 pints sometimes and they're manageable, so I say it's worth a shot. You can find 500 count boxes of disposable petris on eBay for relatively cheap so I'd give those a shot for sure if you're cool with the plastic wasted.

Mateah, go with agar scientific PP plates, for recyclables, I'm in Europe too, there's no reason you should buy them at THAT high a cost. For disposable ones if you must (you don't), look on ebay or something, on ebay you look for the adds with "customs and shipping provided" you'll know what your customs charges will be, and it'll be less likely to get checked by customs too. And even if it will be, it's very unlikely anyone will "intervene".

Plastic all the way. Buy a 500pk on eBay for roughly 50 to 70$. Glass just isn't worth the hassle of having to clean/sterilize

Prices on my side of the world: 90mm plastic $43/500. 90mm plastic quad plate $72/500. Tri plates about $65/500.
90mm glass are about $5 each on my side. Use them more than 10 times, and they become cost effective. I have a few most of which are chipped during my rough cleaning. There are better versions that are much more durable, but you'll still need to clean them up. Easier to clean than a glass jar for no-pours, though. I haven't experienced any slipperyness or dick sucking as yet.
