If necessary you can colonize a cake or block indoors, and then lightly bury it outdoors.

If additional organisms are needed to fruit they can be added to the compost. Cyans do not directly require other organisms, unless they fixate.
I’m new to this so what would I use to increase the pH? I have grain jars and agar plates inoculated so just waiting for them to colonize.

Would assume that the colonizing mycelium would be the temperature difference itself. Enough to cause condensation.

Not the same topic, but I was wondering if I should have condensation in my jars of oat spawn?
I look at condensation in jars as an indcation of either temp swings or contamination. You really should have next to none.

There's a difference in appearance between the two.

There isn’t much but I fanned them for about 90 seconds last night over the FAE and that was enough to get rid of the condensation. That’s good to know it could possibly be contamination. I’ll keep a close eye on them. Thanks!
why are ypu fanning grain jars? I hope they are fully colonized...

Maybe I'll just have to not fully hydrate the grains then let them suck up excess water during PC cycle.
I think my humidity is fucking me when I make grain too. It's been super high pass few weeks.

If you got some coir preped lay out a half inch down then put it into a jar then do the math on it. That's the only way to be 100% sure. I quit measuring shit awhile go.

@Brain Bulb, CaCO3, calcium carbonate, other names: Chalk, agricultural lime, limestone, lime, oyster shell. You want 95-98% CaCO3, magnesium and other alkali's cause toxicity at higher levels.
You want the powder form, so it will react faster and can be mixed easier.

I didn’t open the jars. Was fanning with the jars closed hoping to get a minimal amount of air through the 1/4” hole with filter disc. This is how my jar lids are set up.

Venting makes sure that you don't have any air pockets trapped inside
