No he's Hamloaf, pretty normal for him tbh, xD. A good example of what to do though. As far as nutrition, mycelium cultures tend to run out of water first.
You could rebuild it as gourmet and sterilize with bran.

Is portabella considered gourmet?

Getting stoked for my first grow attempt! Going to use quite a bit of Bod’s Easy AF Tek to start and Stro’s Tek to get a clean culture as I’m starting from a wild P. Caerulescens print. Quite a few people have told me to pick an easier strain to start with but that really just made me want to try it more as I’ve always liked a challenge.
Just waiting on my 23qt pressure cooker. Need to order an inoculation loop and oats. Does it make a difference whether I use a Scalpel or Xacto knife? Anyway, here’s what I have so far. Wish me luck and advice is greatly appreciated!
Telephone - Agar Agar powder Food coloring 66 qt - Sterilite container 2 - 500 mL media bottles 2 - 500 mL beakers 20 - sterile petri dishes 12 - 32 oz. wide mouth jars

It seems more like a generic term around here. I get where you're coming from definitely though!

0OZE, that looks like bruising with maybe something nasty underneath it. watch it like a hawk, you see any funny colours beside blue or myc that looks like mold, toss it.
Brain, you sure you wanna start with a wild non-cube print? thats like 2 extra layers of difficulty.

Brain,
I used an X-acto for like the first 2 years before going to scalpel. Both work, obviously, but I prefer scalpel, for sure. The X-acto handles get ultra hot for me. I had to wrap them in foil which I am sure was a contam vector eventually. They're also a lot bulkier than scalpels which is a problem for slants down the line. The #7 scalpel + like 100 blades are super cheap.
You'll also probably want another 500ml media bottle if you plan on pouring more than 20 plates at a time since you can't fill them very high.
Also, you don't 100% need an inoculation loop. You can use guitar string, twisty ties, or any other shit you can sterilize that are light/dull enough to not destroy spores or your foil. I will say loops are super nice given how long they are.

Dont overthink it. My loop is a x acto handle. Wire I just had. Its safety wire for airplanes. Right? Wrong? I dont care. It works. Figure out what works for you. Hands on is the best teacher.

Just wrap Q-tips in foil and sterilize them in a jar. Bam, unlimited sterilize loops to streak spores with. Or swipe 5 at a time on the print and keep 4 of them tucked away in the jar for later.

Hey Brother, Make sure you follow the instructions for your PC. They are safe if you pay attention to them. Don't walk away for 2 hours to let it work. Like so many mechanical things, things can go wrong. Someone in my area canning vegetables had their PC blow up due to inattention. Rare, but it can happen.

You can use 2 xactos and a lil cup of alcohol so it cools down between.

I've never used a print before, why not just use a sterile blade?

I use a sterile blade and it works fine, you just gotta be a little more careful with it.
