What should I expect/know in comparison to regular pasty plates?
How did you make them without agar? What gelling agent did you use?

Haha I improvised! I did the same recipe for pasty plates, added some maple syrup instead of honey, and enough WBS flour to make a proper paste. It almost looks like chunky chocolate, not even sure if it will work
also: I have pan cyan spores but I live in an apartment and would like to avoid manure for my sake and my roomates. Any advice? Or is the storebought stuff virtually odorless?

That sounds like it would be so nutrient rich it would grub the fuck out and take ages to grow properly.
theres no way youd have anywhere near 2% nutrients in a 'paste'

They'll contaminate just about as easily, but bacteria won't proliferate as much on them, so the mycelium can outrun bacteria more easily.

If I am looking to do some sawdust sized spawn bags where could I get those reliably? Ones that are able to handle sterilization. I am growing them on racks and plan to fruit some gourmet from them and I am looking for some advice, I have an impulse sealer? Not sure if that makes much of a difference in selection of roll style bags or not. The racks I am using have about a 12 inch headroom.

You can get them on eBay in smaller quantities so you don’t have to order 1000.

Mycelium grows just fine on brf, whole grains, and brf paste. Though i make my brf agar at 2% you can actually make a paste of brf and use that as an agar substitute

Isn't the consensus on BRF paste that it actually makes a real shitty agar substitute? I think I saw someone recommend god damn cardboard over it.

Ps. Allenii/ Cyanofriscosa is a species that can colonize larger blocks, don't know if it will fruit from it. Saw an impressive thread on it once, I'll see if I can find it. Edit: tried and failed. Maybe someone else remembers it better.

I know the thread you're talking about, and it was indeed impressive, but I can't find it either. Maybe we hallucinated it? Lol
