If you don't run into issues at 7th gen you most likely will after you clone from that gen. If not a few expansions after cloning

What we know for sure is that senescence is a thing, and the younger a culture is the less likely you are to deal with it. And that's all we really need to know.

Have you ever taken clones from grows that have gone through 3+ G2G cycles? If so, how did they come out?

You make it sound like it's more or less a rule that after 7 gen the culture starts to go south. But who can describe this that has seen this with their own two eyes? I mean if it's so straight forward like 7gen clone and after that problems, then there has to be at least a few documented cases.
I'm mostly curious how it looks that's why I'd like a description from someone who has seen it or from someone who has heard someone describe it.

I have done 4 G2Gs with MS and have heard that trying to take a clone this deep in the G2Gs will just lead to disappointment. Have you ever taken clones from grows that have been G2G'd a handful of times? I'm thinking about going for it anyway just to see how it goes..
I have no clue how a clone would go perform after that. But cloning a fruit from a grow using spawn that was G2G'd 4 times is not the same as the 4th clone. And it's not the same as spawn that was G2G'd 4 times from a much bigger jar/vessel.
Give it a shot. What do you have to lose? Take the clone, transfer it a few times to clean it, and slant it while you run a shoebox or something.

Awesome man, thanks for advice. I'm gonna go for it and take a clone and see what happens.

Don’t edible cultures (many of which are isolates) get g2g for like 20+ gens before seeing an issue?

They get expanded until they can't since that's a business with numbers and shit involved. I'm sure a strong cube culture can be expanded tons, as well. The fact is, very, very few of us need to G2G on that level.
But that's not a generation. A generation is spores > mycelium > fruit body. Expanding the mycelium on a spawn run is not running it through generations.

Not to mention superspawning, mixing colonized bulk substrate to fresh substrate

This is important to note. Ive never really considered size of container as a big factor.

you're right. I do make it sound like that. I didn't mean to.

Obviously its not so cut and dry. Every culture is different and I bet stress and nutrient exposure can make a difference. There are so many variables to consider. I dont even want to think about it. It would be cool to get the data gathered though so we could have an average number

Anybody know if the 921 and 941 are the same diameter? The online specs show the AA941 is like 2" wider, but I think that's including the handles. Looking to see if it'd work on my stove burner like the 921 does with overlap.

Took my first transfers for PESA, 3 tiny wedges on one plate. I have 1 prepared plate left, hopefully the ones I ordered will come in before I need them...idk if I have any half pints anymore that I could use in a pinch.

What would you guys do with these two jars? Spawn or Chuck? Both jars were inoculated with my first attempt at LC. Both had varying levels of "Wet spot" bacteria before I shook 2 days ago. The growth to me looks weak and not sure if I should waste my time spawning them. Jar 1:

Jar 2:

I wouldn't spawn them. If you inoculated with LC and then had to shake a few days later and it's still not done, plus it's appearance. Shoebox material if you have to try for a spore print, otherwise I'd throw it in the compost pile.

They look huge in all the pics I’ve seen. Heavy too. Everything I’ve seen here from people with 941s is done on outdoor propane burners. It’s got twice the volume of your 921 so it has to be pretty massive.
