Decided to test out colonizing til 80-100% and fruiting (left) vs fruiting at spawning (right) for myself Knew what to expect but results are already speaking for themselves Spawned 7/23, 4qts to half bucket of CVG each All from one LC that was transferred 3 times from spores, so not an isolate but enough for me

I can take some later this week when I do my next HWFP bags.
Basically I do the following:
1. Position bag with filter patch facing away from body. 2. Fold gussets sides in, pinch the top of the substrate at gussets and make sure it folds properly all the way to the top. 3. Turn the substrate towards you while pinching at the top, in this way you are folding the substrate on top of the gusset. 4. Fold the top of the bag so it covers the filter patch 5. Continue to roll the bag forward such that it sits on top of the fold that is on top of the patch. 6. Press lightly.
Ready to rock and roll!

Man so I have a 3 pound grain bag ready to be spawned but I leave in two weeks for a week so I know it wont be done by then. But I also know it wont stay good for another 3 weeks idk what to do. I also have a Jar I cant spawn for the same reasons. I thought about doing a G2G with the jar but then that will be ready by next week and sitting for two. Such a problem to have right too much spawn lol

I'd expand, and expand again right before you leave.

Yeah that’s what I ended up doing last time and worried the whole time I was gone but it seems it was okay so far. I spawned 8 shoeboxes from the jars I had in the fridge and some are a bit yellow looking as they approach full colonization but idk if that’s the spawn or just drying out.

Or
I thought about that also I’ll have to make a ton of jars to expand 8 more jars though

Same with the spawn bag I don’t even want to try to G2G that one. I’ll just put that in the fridge now and see how it ends up in three weeks

No. If they're 100mm dishes they are slightly too big. But the agar sticks to the plastic pretty good, and without being able to squeeze it yur best bet is to cut it up into 4 slices and drop em. I can get 2 on a scalpel without them riding up too high.

Please help, this is all I could find local. Will this work for casing material? I also have coir, verm, gypsum, and perlite. Would this be considered hydrated lime or calcium carbonate? And what else do I need?

You can make an awesome casing with everything you listed, just make sure you pasteurize properly! Keep the coir for bulk. Follow the casing in Just the tip

Do spores clump easily from moisture? The reason I ask is I’ve gotten spore prints from two members here, and I know this isn’t how they are printing them, but when I go to use them it’s like there’s no spores on the foil. They’re are some clumped up pieces of spores that fall out when I open the print but barely any on the foil. Is that something that happens from humidity during mailing?

They do but it sounds like they're dry to me... If they were wet they'd stick to the foil..

They look like they clumped up from moisture but I understand what you’re saying. But if they were dry would they just clump and fall out like that? I figure it’s from the high humidity during shipping.

I think they probably clumped wet then dried and released from the foul so when you opened it, they bounced around just spitballing here
