I buried in an area I could lean plant debris around. Like bush clippings, tree branches, things of that nature. They helped shade it and keep the Rh up since they would get wet too. I'd spray anything around it. I also chose my fruiting spot in between two railroad ties in the backyard. So they had about 6in of protection on 3 sides, and the ties being wood, held onto a little moisture I suppose.
You can kinda see them in that picture on the ground. That's where I picked them.

My concern is that by the time anything is tall enough to grow it'll be exposed to the elements and its dry as fuck around here. I can pile up a bunch of old compost to help protect it, but im worried about suffocating them and making them too hot
Me find it where there is grass theres a good microclimate for them to grow in semi set and forget setting. Grass tends to collect water from air early in the morning.

Do you have any cover or overgrowth? Maybe a garden? If you put it under a plants canopy that may shield it from some of the heat or from drying out.

So I got a tub full of blobs that I will harvest today but also two semi normal first flush fruits. Do any of you guys think it’s worth cloning one of these two semi normal fruits?

Thanks man, No problem it was just a standard MEA recipe. I used 5 grams of light malt extract from a sponsor here and 5 grams of agar for 250ml of water. So far it’s worked better then any other ones I’ve tried!

I dug a 4 ish inch deep hole, wide enough for all my sub under a pine tree, then i leaned an old sheet of tin roof against the tree over the hole. My plan is to then cover woth soil, put a few blocks in the corners and lay apple branches over the buried sub in a gridded pattern (elevated off the ground) then lay all my grass clippings over that, spraying until the soil over the sub is wet

So I bought a giant industrial bag of vermiculite from a landscaping supplier.. It was 20 bucks and the bag was about the size of me, only when I opened it I realized that it wasnt horticultural grade vermiculite and it was basically just a giant bag of dust... Fuck it I used it anyway... Verm is verm I suppose
It actually gives the coir a really interesting smooth texture and I'm able to level the sub surface extremely well with it. I spawned a 66qt mono lastnight and I'll post results in a couple weeks. I don't see a reason for it not to yield well and if it does then I'm going to be extremely pleased with my purchase.
You're definitely not going to want to roll cakes in this stuff but it may be a nice cheap alternative for the stubborn fucks like me who just have to have a couple quarts of Verm in their bulk sub

Why not? Fine verm is easier to roll cakes in imo And I know what you mean about the texture, is awesome. Just not ideal for casings

I never saw anything but fine grade until I bought a huge bag of the chunk at a garden/nursery shop
Big box shops don't seem to stock anything but fine grade

B: lay them flat side by side. <--- more surface area = more mushrooms
And cover with 1: yard dibree 2: peat straight out of the bag 3: ph adjusted peat/verm
Any of these three will work equally well.
I dump all of my spent subs into a 4'x4' planter box. The ones buried under others do not fruit nearly as well.

Fuckin Vert has hit the PE tubs... wasn’t sure if mutant growth or infection at first but it has made itself apparent.. hoping it hasn’t made it to my Atl7’s. Thinking I just need to throw the rest of my spawn and subs out until I get a hood built within the next week. Got 3 great looking Orissa tubs about to pop, butt fuck it I guess!

Yep, was planning on an 18” tall but decided might as well go with the 2 footer so I can do bags. I’m doing like 30 quarts a week so I should just make it easier on myself. Been over complicating things for like a year lol
