The square rubbermaid containers seem to hold up really well for me. Been through 7 cycles so far no wear. Damn Moab I feel your pain. My PC only holds 3 quart jars as well. My last run took me 8 hours to do 12 jars

Also maob you gotta get yourself at least a 23 qt presto if you wanna make good use of your time.
75 on amazoian https://www.amazon.com/Presto-01781-23-Quart-Pressure-Canner/dp/B0000BYCFU?th=1 if you got prime or 100 and free shipping at walmart online. I really feel the price is worth your time and effort being able to do more at one time. I use two of those at a time.
Or the AA 25 qt at least which are well worth the money (around 200$) as they'll last forever and have no gasket to fail or replace. Very well made.
love your diligence moab keep it up.

I agree! A 3 quart pc is such a waste, I couldn't imagine using one again. The presto 23 q has saved me so much time and money. 10 quarts vs 3 is a no brainer, especially when you sterilize for two hours like I do.
As far as agar goes, disposable petris are where it's at. I go through a lot of agar and, while I can see the benefit and usefulness of no-pour, I simply go through too much agar to find it suitable for my needs.

It's all good guys. Time is something I do have, so I'm gonna make the most of it. Wanna get real good at this hobby.
My pasty plates have no satellites, so I'm doing them exactly as pictured. There's a jar of each step. Two layers of micropore. Then a paper towel. Then three lids of foil.
Gonna let them colonize inside the jar package, so I'll have that layer of plastic over top of the lapertoweled, micropored filters.
3 jars started. 20 to go. 3 at a time baby.
Wish me luck. Let's grow some mushrooms.

I think it's called hitchhikers thumb.
I noticed too, and googled it before I ever saw this reply. Hahaha
This PC scares me. I hear it rumbling inside, big ole bellowing bubbles, but it sure as hell ain't rocking. Little bit of steam dropping out from where the rocker is.... how tight is that black screw on thing supposed to be? I have it pretty tight.....
This PC seems to be getting worse with each use. The rocker thing doesn't spin too fluidly anymore... kinda tight.
Man. I hear my pressure cooker rumbling across the house... but it's not rocking..... turn the heat up?

You need to stay safe, if you feel it's not operating correctly, turn it off and go buy a 23 q presto. Cheap and just what you need right now, your safety counts as well as time.

Black screw thing? You should have a weighted rocker that sits over the release, right? You got it hot enough to spew steam for a few minutes before putting on the rocker, right? You have a picture of the lid, so we know what you're talking about?

Gonna get a 23qt for sure. It's almost Christmas time and I think my lady would be alright with it...
Cranked the heat up to 3.5, and we got action.
So start my timer now for 90 mins? It's 1am, it'll be done at...3. Gotta get up at 6 to take my wife to work, drag little man out, then be to work myself at noon.
Live for this shit man. It's my favorite thing to do.

you have to screw that rocker on all the way, until it sits loosely again on top

Just discovered my glass top stove is not the way to go..... always something man, I swear.
A guess this tiny PC of equal diameter to the burner shouldn't be too terrible

My first PC was a presto 23qt given to me by my wife for Christmas right after I signed up for this site in Dec. 2013. Just keep this up and you will have a 941 by next year.

Smells like beer in here. Fresh brewing beer. This scent actually is giving me an itch to order beer brewing supplies again.
Alright folks, it's 3am,I gotta crash. Back up at it at six. Should be able to get two more sets of three in by the time I gotta go to work.

Looks like I cooked my WBS too long last night and have some burst grains. Nothing crazy. But some for sure. Is that a grow killer?

What kind of lunch box or other containers do you guys use?
If they are stacked up a few high will they be ok without insulation?
How long will a slightly thick poured plate last in the fridge before drying out?
On another note, If I pick 1 or two mushrooms at the perfect time and I don't want to use a dehydrator for just 2 fruits would storing them in the fridge preserve potency the best until a larger batch comes in to dry?

what prep are you using?
Did you soak/boil all the wbs at once and are slowly pcing it over a long period of time or are you making each batch right before pcing it?
