It is absolutely delicious. I'm definately putting some to agar.

Yeah whole top of the tub blued, things seem ok but one big mushroom stopped growing and was just looking worse so it was picked this mourning. All in all looks fine and I agree with you but these we're on the bacterial side which alreay make it a little more susceptible to going south quicker, I'm sure that didn't make it happier unfortunately my space is all shared so I just have to be better about putting things away. I got 7 more that look like they're about to pin so im not sweating it, 3 of which look really promising

Yeah fisherman. I'll take any links or info you got man. I found that growing near red oak, and I have access to fresh oak logs. I also have a book on making shiitake logs. I'm guessing it cotw can be cultivated in a similar fashion.

Put the early finishers from a first flush into my fancy new dehydrator before work (~110g), dried for a total of 10 hours while I was at work. Came out as ~11g. The stragglers had finished by the time I got home, as did a jar, roughly 230g total. Into the dehydrator for another 10 hours!

Here is a link to a post from krypto who got me my COTW culture. Havent had a chance to put it to grain or play with it though, but I posted a link with 1 or 2 papers that might be worth a skim

You could try taking something abrasive like sand paper and roughing up your adherent area so it will stick better if that becomes an issue for you.
Just make sure you blow away any dust you create before the silicone.

These lids come with a roughed up surface specifically for that. I pulled them out at 0 psi when they were still hot and while I was shaking 3 of them ended up sliding off. Didn't have this problem with the first set I ran so I think I just need to let them cool down more before I rough handle them. Might goober on some extra silicone to be on the safe side. I heard any silicone works in the pc so I got the clear basic kitchen stuff. Hopefully that isn't the root of the problem.

I have found the automotive RTV to be more heat resistant than some other silicons.

It is not often I feel the need to "rant" on the shroomery, but here we go.
I was contacted by a brand new account, zero posts, just made that day, asking for free prints. After a little digging, they said some ramblings of how my info was sent to them from some facebook group or something like that...
WTH
I am not a service to be used by all the newbs who want to grow mad shrooms brah. I have quality spore prints that I put a lot of time and attention into, that I use them for trades and also in giveaways to dedicated mushmen and women. I will not send free spores to some rando who doesn't know what they are doing who is begging for freebies.
I know we are a community and we like to share deals and steals and giveaways with one another, but don't be a fucktard about it. Don't go sharing my shroomery account and links around some facebook group with an obvious name. I'm not some company, I am a fellow human who loves this hobby and the medicinal benefits and the community. I want to share with those that deserve it and put their time in.
My giveaways are posted in the marketplace because they are intended for those shroomerites who show that level of dedication to access it. Don't go telling your instagram homie from CA that he can score sweet free spores.
Be smart. I won't be doing anymore giveaways if I feel like my freedom has any chance of being compromised. I am not a sketch guy by nature, but when some dinkus goes and throws my info all over non-protected social media, linking this site we love and support, I get upset.
In other news, I just posted a mexican dutch king giveaway/trade thread and I will have PESA and Oak Ridge prints available in 5-8 days

Yes regular silicone caulking takes 450+ degrees no problem but rtv will do into the 500+ zone.
All silicone is rtv, but the stuff sold as rtv silicone is the automotive gasket maker. Its too brittle in my opinion to be any good for jar lids

I wish I knew. Didn't feel the need to get access to the FB group with a fake accoutn and see if I could recognize any names or see if my info was given out by post or PM, but I have done so many trades and given away so many free spores that I would have no way of telling.
I like that fact, having given away so many, but I also don't want to get any negative attention, especially if people are promoting my spores for purposes other than microscopy.

In a SAB or flow?
Gr0wer sterilized a ladle and scooped from one bag in front of a flowhood. No sleeves. It was gourmets, but I don't see why that simple approach wouldn't work.

Not sure where I wanted to post this, but I have about 16 of 32 APE brf half pints(MS inoculated on 5/20)that show no sign of germination(or contamination)after over 3 weeks. The other 16 have healthy growth. Is this a "normal" germination rate for APE? Thoughts on re-inoculating said jars with AA+?(or other variety) I do ALOT of brf jars and this is the first time I've ran into this issue. Thanks!
