The master jars recovered 3 times quickly from shakes and looked visually good. i clinked one of the the master jars on a receiving jar by accident and i think it is possible i touched the under side of the master lid from removing and replacing the lid on every jar.
My plan is to spawn a few without expanding and then do a g2g like RR and post the video. I think i'd prefer to use 2 hands on the master jar while pouring. then if it 'tams out, at least i know it's not during expansion. Which at that point will lead one to believe the culprit is the culture or grain prep.

If i vacuum seal my jars to store my dry mushrooms would it still be beneficial to use a desiccant as well, or is just vacuum sealing sufficient enough?

I've also started vacuum sealing mine in food saver bags, is that any better/worse?

If they're in jars with metal lids/bands then you shouldn't need to vacuum seal the jar in a bag

I don't use desicant packs in my food saver vacuum bags. I do use them in my jars though. The jars are not vac sealed. I haven't ever had a problem either way with the mush drawing moisture.

The food saver has an attachment to vacuum seal quart mason jars. I use that to seal up my dried mush. No desiccant needed.

I use desiccant as a just in case because it's not going to hurt anything, but can help out if something happens, even if it's unlikely. They're like $10 for like 250 of them on Amazon. Why not? It's not unheard that you accidentally take them off the dehydrator with a little bit of moisture left. It's not unheard of that the bag gets popped by a stem or something.
JHOVA,
Why are you shaking the master to recover 3 times? Also are you going quart > quart or pint > quart? Pint is definitely easier to manage.

Fuck that 70 ime I only shake once at 20-30 then again at spawning recovery time at 30 should tell you how clean it is Pints are awesome masters. One pint to 5-7 quarts is awesome

Pints for masters is pretty convenient in my exp. Can expand to about 6-7 easily, usually finish up in 8-10 days.
Ive noticed a batch of jars I did a while ago have been contaminated with a yeast, but the myc seems fairly undisturbed by it. Anyone have exp of grows with a yeast contamination?

Rant for 1 second.
Can people PLEASE stop sending unmarked prints?
All prints should have date, variety/species and be marked for microscopy purposes only.
Itβs a real pain to get an unmarked print amongst others and to figure out what is what.
End rant.

Not even in a baggie, just a print on foil in a piece of paper.
I appreciate giveaways and trades but come on peeps. No idea who this is from.
So if anyone from TX sent me a print recently, pm me so I can catalog it for my library
