Milo is the best IMO, fantastic spawn and apparently great for stones too.

I dont mind millet just i prefer milo. Mili doesn't burst as frequently and makes clean up a bit easier.

cool thank you clouds. I actually use a glove box which im assuming is same thing. We're super sterile about EVERYTHING, as you should. Thank you for explaining it to me. I HAD NO IDEA THATS WHY I WASNT GETTING SPORES! I'm glad i know now thou. Was driving myself crazy for a second trying to figure out what was going on lol. All my pics are of flush one. Will post flush two soon, pin set just started

An SAB is basically a gloveless glove box- glove boxes aren't quite as good for this hobby, it seems. The movement of the gloves (as well as putting them on/taking them off) can create more air movement than it eliminates, and it's hard/dangerous to flame sterilize in a glove box (meaning you need more pre-sterilized/disposable tools in your work area). The vibe I'm picking up is that wearing gloves+tyvek sleeves and using a glove box is A-OK here (I liberally apply hand sanitizer to thoroughly-washed arms, since I can't find tyvek that fits. I also rest my arm on the edge of the hole, which is apparently something you're not supposed to do). Work as far to the back of the box as you comfortably can, let physics and the still air do the hard work for you.
tl;dr: SAB > glovebox
So, today I learned that overly wet/improperly set agar might kill transfers? I did a new batch of transfers on agar (pha) that was quite firm, and the growth they're showing compared to the complete and utter lack of growth on goopy agar is astonishing. Like, it's 24 hours later and this new set of transfers is already taking off! I have transfers that are a week old that haven't done a damn thing. I should stick to tried-and-true recipes until I have a chance to test small batches of a new thing instead of just going "oh yeah let's make as much as I possibly can because why not."
Edit: I forgot what I came here to post and rambled about boxes. I came here to ramble about agar!

I have a bunch of GH stuff bookmarked and I still don't feel like there is a comprehensive write up on this. Violet has one that is probably the most in depth. I am taking a little bit from each one (or not) and planning mine.

Sweet unit LF420! I bought the 921 new and that prick had a slight steam leak the first 2 or 3 times I used it. I was about to lose my shit, but it stopped after that and it's been great since. It's seriously one of my prized possessions!

Can anybody think of a way to combine micropore dialed monos with bods harvest tek? I've got my eye on a bigger tub that would probably be a pain to harvest, so I want to try and float the substrate to the top, but I really like the automation of micropore monos. So the holes in the tub need to provide solid ge with micropore, and still become watertight when some sort of plug is installed. Maybe some sort of pvc bracket?

Hey, new to growing, mine is straw substrate. At fruiting stage now, pinning started 3 days ago n this is how it looks so far, just looking for some helpful input on how it looks and if it's normal for pinning to start like this, any useful comments will help.
