I don't strain a thing out of my wbs. I use penningtons and it has a bunch of cracked corn in it so there's no way it'll hold up to heating at all. I soak for up to 24hrs and have always had great results. Sure it isn't a quick method but I try to plan ahead as much as possible.
Same thing happened to me when trying a tek for oats. The ones I originally got were all smashed up and dirty af. I ended up taking a drive for some super clean race horse oats which were cooked in 20min. I'm looking at combining the wbs and oats for my next run of jars

Anyways, followed hamloafs tek, but my wbs came out way stickier and clumpier than ever. The wbs I’m using does have cracked corn so I’m assuming that’s the culprit. Regardless, I got 7 jars pc’d and nocced em up with wedges. Hoping it wasn’t a waste and a failed venture to try a new prep.
I have found that cracked corn when simmered gums the whole jar up. If only soaked, then I am rather pleased with the results. In fact I'm gonna prep some meow. Gotta get them sunflower seeds out though, IME the cracked corn wbs sans SF is quite good. Gonna make masters with it to G2G into me oats
Yea man I’m curious as to how these turn out. They broke up better than I expected after PCing so I’m hoping for the best.

I remove the sunflower seeds so as to get a more uniform mix. That said I don't think I have actually done the soak no simmer method with the SF in it. I'm only using the WBS for masters though so I want more grain per volume.

Found a single spot of green in the tub I've got going. It was localized to two grains that weren't well colonized, and their position makes me think it was a contained infection, not bad spawn.

So you spawned with not fully colonized jars? Or the 2 grains had weak growth that didn't leap off properly? The former could be possible but if it's the latter that is bad spawn bro. The myc would have been too weak to properly fight off the mold because of bacteria or something else hidden.

Nah out of 8 jars I chose those 4 that looked cleanest. There ended up being a small clump in a corner of the tub that didn't have as vigorous growth and two grains on the top of the clump had a small bit of green. I shook the jars at 90% to see if contamination would pop up after a few more days and it didn't. We'll see.
Edit: closer examination revealed a few more spots. Way she goes, just gotta got gud. I'm still pretty shitty at this, but I'll have more time when I quit this lab job.

I would recommend 3 hits, always 3. The threshold for the full psychedelic effect begins at like 250 according to Hoffman, I believe. Should they bee the standard 100ea, even with a slight margun of error I would expect them to be at 90 and so 270 puts you just past the 250 mark. Ironically the Sandoz samples back in the day were 270ea, I believe.

When someone writes 'horse manure, coir, vermiculite and gypsum (50/30/15/5)' do they mean weight or volume?

2g of cubes won't do it, you need to do pans. If you want small doses or p. Azures.

I've had good times on 2g of cubes alone, let alone on top of 2 hits L. There a so many reasons we shouldn't be giving dosage advice

I have no suggestions as for checking your ego but I would suggest you take 2g of cubes with 2 hits of lsd. Trust me on this.

I have to agree, it varies so much mushroom to mushroom and person to person.
On another note, check out this PESA tub. Started on 4/21, with a 1-1 ratio.

Edit: temp: min. 72 max. 74 Humidity: 90-98% Light: standard ceiling mounted room light.
Substrate: coir/verm 3"
