I bottom watered them earlier and I'm soaking all the early boxes that go harvested already. Hoping that helps. I increased the humidity in the chamber by 3% as well. Is a fucking pain in the as to be harvesting hundreds of tiny ass mushrooms while your in the middle of packing all your shit up. Yield could have easily been double to triple if they grew just a little bigger. Uggh. Just 1 more week and it will all be over.

Nice! To an extent they are ok but these are in a small shoe box and not a mono so they really are painfully small. It does lend to the cuteness factor. I kind of wish I had some little lego men so I could put them in there and take pics.

Keep up the good work guys! I am unable to grow until at least summer 2019 because of school. Sitting on multiple ounces from my last run though that will easily last me until then but I've gotta say, I miss the process and fun of checking my tubs and harvesting so frequently. I'm living through you all now.

And to those having trouble germinating spores, I've been doing some studying on that topic among the agarics.
Some strategies that may be worth a try are heat shocking at ~45℃ for at least an hour, using oat soak agar, or placing the agar container somewhere enclosed close to a lot of colonizing myc. A paper on amanita showed that a 7C compound exuded by live amanita myc induced germination in other amanita spores.
For the agar another paper showed that minimal media was more successful than enriched, so if trying the oat soak agar make sure it's not too nutritious.

Bachelors in nursing. Mycology has helped so much it's crazy. From use of spore syringes, sterile swabs, sterile technique in general, my own research over the years about bacteria and mold etc. I am surprised how much mycology/this website has helped me in my program.

Hello! I'm going to do a monotub and I'm afraid of trich spores in my house. If I have a good sterile procedure, clean spawn and clean sub with a coco casing, should be a problem?

So In which stage spores are a problem? Can't spores go to the case layer or even when I'm putting the sub and spawn into the monotub?

Mold spores are a problem when colonizing spawn and initially procuring a clean agar culture. Coir and pasteurized straw & pasteurized horse manure are resistant to mold spores when going to bulk. Thats why we can spawn in open air once we reach 100% grain colonization.

Mold spores can only be a problem if your spawn was bacterial and therefore weakened and can also be a problem if you're using a substrate that needs to be pasteurized and you didn't pasteurize it correctly. But I guess you're gonna be using coir, right? In that case, coir doesn't need to be pasteurized, you can bucket-tek it or even sterilize it, it doesn't matter. Mold spores won't germinate on coir.

I would be careful making assumptions from different genera, especially if there was not a mechanism proposed or identified in the papers IMHO

Just had to cut a couple mushrooms early cause their veils were opening while most of the tub is pins and 20% is still fully closed caps. Hope this doesn't signal to everything else to give up
