Should I try to trim the excess of my liner now or just leave it be?

Nindo with manure and coir
Copes with straw and manure
Cubes I'd mix it all in lol
Caerulescens with coir (haven't started this species yet) ...But starting very soon...

I'm a bit confused. I don't have much expirience, but I've always get 1:10 ratio dryed:fresh shroom weight. I've harvested 1 kilo of B+ recently and after I dry em and put on a scale I saw ~65g instead of 90-100g. WTF is that?

35% or so less weight than anticipated.
You need to grow more. Seriously though sometimes the shrooms pick up more water under certain conditions. Maybe increase airflow some. Were the shrooms mushy and soft?

More water retained in fruits. Fruits vary from grow to grow so dry weight will as well

Shrooms were pretty solid and big yet much more hollow than I used to. These were grown in monotube, but I've also have shoebox on the same grains (it MS culture though) that give me smaller shrooms and their weight dry:fresh were exactly 1:10. May be it is somehow size related issue? Also FAE is something I concern of.
Anyway, this GT/B+ grow already gave me enough of shrooms for 1 year ahead (considered 4g/week) and it is just first B+ flush in this MT. I think I'll get about 1.5-2 kilo fresh shrooms in next 4 weeks. I didn't expect so much when I started 2 month ago.

Mine vary between 90-95% water weight loss after drying.

What does everyone think of growing in a Myco bag? Thats what im growing currently out of.
I did a rye berries grain spawn inoculation Then a bulk substrate [50% verm/cori and 50% EWC with 3% gypsum] then put them in a tub for the mycelium to take over, then into a myco bag under light when it was ready to go! and this is what ive got now. thoughts?

So, went with straight manure for the Copes, straight straw for the cubes, a mix of straw and coir for the Caerulescens, and a manure/coir mix for the Mexicanas. Come to find out there were two varities of Mexicanas upon closer examination of labeling on jars. One was Chicon Nindo. Other was tampaniensis. Both clones. The Chicon got a hand full of straw.
Thanks myce, and Lefty for suggestions.

Pasturization is something I still haven't tried...eventually I will get around to messing with poo & straw...just kinda intimidated by pastuerization and I need to get a good digital thermometer with a probe to keep an eye on temps

Don't get digital. Get analogue. In fact get two. Digital wears out after a few uses, but for a fraction of the cost an analogue thermometer will last a while as long as you don't kick it around like a soccer ball.

It's not that hard. All the teks mention this, but it's super important. You need to start out on a lower heat and let the temp build up slowly...or you will over shoot your target. Dude, just throw some coir in a jar and practice. Once you get a feel for your oven it goes like clockwork.

Don't use an over for pasteurization. Use stove top burner, and a large sauce pan. Hydrate bulk substrate materials first, place them in jars or spawn bags, and use water as heat transferring medium.

Yeah that's what meant....burners on the oven. Jars of substrate in quart jars in a PC without the lid.

I've used an oven for pasteurization and it works fine but it takes a long time to build up to the proper temperature in your substrate. Took me like 4 hours from start to finish. I recommend starting with a temperature like 350 and constantly checking the internal temp of your sub. You don't want it to exceed 180.

I use an infrared thermometer to check surface temps and a candy thermometer to check internal temps.

I'll get 2 thermometers then, and probably use oven bags to pastuerize in 16qt stock pot of water.. I also got an electric turkey roaster that may work for pastuerizing
