The Z might not be contamed but no matter what the GT looks like the better culture. Use the GT.

The original plate I took the GT from is extremely rhizo now. This second transfer looks real good... do I have to transfer a third time? Obviously if I was using z, yeah, but from what I've looked at and basing off others, my GT looks pretty good.
Let the plate grow all the way, make LI?
Or transfer again, let it grow, then do LI?

If a plate is clean and never had spores on it, do whatever you want with it.

So this culture is worryingly fuked. All the growth and satellites look the same. Am I piggy backing a contaminant from one plate to another?
I seem to be getting quite alot of these satellites on different plates.

did you happen to let the transfer wedge roll all around the goddamned dish? That's what it looks like. A couple satellites are a bit concerning, I'd take from the growth coming off the wedge, and transfer to a new plate.

I've got a fleet of mason quart jars with metallic lids and rings which btw cost my a kidney due to international shipping.
Anyway, I will soon be drilling holes on the lids but I don't want to sand the burrs from making the holes because it's just a lot of jars.
The burrs are going to be facing downwards so that they won't damage the sfd's, so I need to be sure which side of the lids are going to be facing upwards, the rubber side or the metallic side. I know that the rubber side makes a vacuum after pcing and that some people prefer to leave the rubber side up.
I'd like to know what you all think about this, what would you do in my place?

If you have something like a Dremel tool it makes grinding the burrs down easy. That way you can use the lids either way, settling on whichever actually serves you better from experience going forward.

Yeah that was my main concern as well. Is it difficult to open the lids in the sab if you have the rubber side down?

Well I guess that if you plan to do G2G having the rubber side up is the way to go, isn't it?

Cool, thanks dude. Btw, TranscendingLife made a vid where he did G2G with the rubber side down, dude has some skills...
Just another thing, my jars are regular mouth because I just couldn't find good bargains on wide mouth jars on ebay. Are they worse for G2G than the wide mouth jars?
