Uh... Ever heard of "Nothing ventured, nothing gained"?

And hot pours have failed more often than worked for me personally. What's wrong with having another tool at your disposal?

I just find it unimportant and unneccesary.

Silver would harm mycelium too. Or if it didn't it likely wouldn't harm other competitive fungi.

Bacteria is really easy to get away from. Mold not so much.
I haven't even needed antibiotics to clone wild fruits for fucks sake.

I'm still not fully sure if my cultures are bacterial or just puffy.. Is a raised culture a sign of bacteria or just morphology? It could be grain prep that's fuckin with me...

"Tried and true", "scientific advancement"... all I see is a bunch of petty parroting. At the end of the day a hot pour is a roll of the dice, fails like a bitch. Sandwiches fail like a modefuckin bitch too, at least for me. Antibiotics are expensive, you need equipment, it's not a simple and quick process and on top of that fails too. Transferring normally when there's really a lot of bacteria? I don't know about yall, but I give the fuck up after tranferring more than 6 times without success.

:lmafo: Holy shit haha I had just left to the grocery store & remember that I when I made my agar today I rushed it into the pressure cooker and I left the caps on my media bottles TIGHT & forgot to cover with foil. I've been using snapple bottles with SFD's for pouring and I finally spent the money on proper media bottles and almost blow them up a week after getting them. :laugh2: Fortunately when I got home & it was cool enough to open they were still tight, & in one piece. Coool now I can continue as planned
:derp:

They'll be fine. They're way stronger than mason jars. And Mason jars are in their intended use air tight with a screwed on cap. People seem to forget that and assume closed jars are bombs for some reason

Dump the pressure at the end of the cycle and you might crack em.

Yup I'm familiar with how to use the PC and know better then to dump the pressure  I work with borosilicate (pyrex) on the daily, & yeah its more durable then the softer glass they make the mason jars out of & I know that their designed to be air tight in the pc for canning.  I know that glass can have a mind of its own at times tho lol & I've seen things pop, crack, fail all on there own, all pyrex, but a brand new properly annealed pyrex bottle should be able to with stand 15-20lbs of pressure no sweat, we used some pyrex vacuum chambers we made and pulled the equivalent of about 12-14psi through them with no issues.  I should check the bottles put under a polarscope over time to see how the degrade with PCing, its what we used to check seals or stress on clear apparatuses after annealing

Also thanks again for sharing knowledge Bod as always

Done it, made my own version of it, still not good enough to catch hitchhikers. Interwoven mold ones I mean. Like mycogone.

Who said is for mold? Meshed-in mold really is a problem. What's your own version?
You know that art work Nate is doing with bacteria? I wish he put a clean wedge on there, let it marinate in the nastiness and then do the method, see where bacteria goes.

If your take on mycogone it's something like the obvious PE blobs in Kaption's tub the other day in POTD I can see we're at.

I never understood why people are discouraged from doing experiments that have 0 impact on others. I see this as a fun hobby so why not try stuff? Because pthers have 0 interest in it? Experiment away and Fuck em if they don’t like it
